Why is atheist spelled A-T-H-E-I-S-T instead of A-T-H-I-E-S-T?

There's no C in atheist.

My sister is getting confirmed and we need a good Bible verse to put in the invitations. My mom wants one about beauty or becoming a child of God. If you could give the book and verse number that would be great!! Thank you!

The Christians were destroying the Jews at first and they said that they're not going to heaven, and now after the holocaust they are saying that they are the chosen people and they're going to heaven no matter what. Christians?????????

Seriously. I think that if you believe in one god, you might as well believe in all of them - they all make about the same amount of sense. Since I wouldn't make a good atheist, I've decided to believe in ALL of the gods.

But what would you call such a person? At first I thought "Omnitheist" might be a good word, but then I googled it and found this in Wikipedia:

"Omnitheism is the belief that every religion contains at its core an appreciation of the nature of the universe.....Omnitheists believe that there is a spiritual dimension to all of existence.....
Omnitheists believe that this spiritual dimension can take on intelligent forms, such as the human soul. They believe that these forms can manifest as "gods", "spirits", "kami", etc. which are capable of communicating with human beings."

Sounds good, but it still doesn't cover the idea of simply believing in ALL the gods.

that a person on Prozac would experience, minus the side effects? In essence will Christians become like happy little zombies? I know this sounds silly, but without any negative emotions that is how I see it. As you can imagine this is a hypothetical question assuming that Heaven exists.

Thanks.

Thinking requires you to hold separate thoughts at separate times, which would mean that you changed.

My mother passed away 10 months ago a few months back, I heard her call my name. I could have sworn that it was her voice. Does anybody believe that the dead can communicate with us?

Ah, I can't help it. After a stressful day it's so good to light up after dinner. Then I just want to sit on the couch all night, watch tv and eat, eat, eat!!!
Bad for obvious reasons. I'm a girl and don't like the extra few pounds its added. I do eat all low-fat stuff but that ain't the point. I just want to overpower the cravings. Anybody been able to???
Advise???? And I like to get high so that ain't changing.

They say they believe in the Constitution, yet they believe in censorship, curtailing the rights of other citizens(i.e. gay marriage), and steeping religion into politics.
Don't these things go against our principles as a nation?

When "the spirit of the Lord" comes upon Jephthah, he makes a deal with God: If God will help him kill the Ammonites, then he (Jephthah) will offer to God as a burnt offering whatever comes out of his house to greet him. God keeps his end of the deal by providing Jephthah with "a very great slaughter." But when Jephthah returns, his nameless daughter comes out to greet him (who'd he expect, his wife?). Well, a deal's a deal, so he delivers her to God as a burnt offering -- after letting her spend a couple of months going up and down on the mountains bewailing her virginity. (Judges 11:29-39).

Why does God allow human sacrifice? Why doesn't he just say that is all right, Jephthah, my law says "don't kill?" "Or, no what you would be doing is wrong, you shouldn't have made such a stupid promice." Does God's unwilling to step in make him seem unloving or uncaring to you?

Create part of a scoring system if you want to.....

Example...every flood caused....2 points.....
Each sectarian split might cost a point.....
Every hundred thousand people fed from religious charity.....1 point.....

You get the idea....

Make some fantasy religion rules....

and give me some Fantasy Religion draft picks.

I would like to ask Jim_Darwin and everyone else..to forgive me..

As I should have written to him first..

I know that you did not personally use your son to hurt him in any way..I just see so many children that are beaten and killed by others.. :(

I have no problem, with anyone making fun of me..so you can use me as an example if you would like.. :)

With Love..In Christ.. :)
