Anyone else a little tired of the "if you hate Christians so much, move" argument?

Isn't this nation founded on the idea of a market place of ideas, and fighting for political gain?

Why should I move and not fight for my political interests?

My husband and I were visited by Jehovah's witnesses. I asked them some questions but their answers were weak. So I challenge any Jehovah's witnesses to try to give strong answers to these questions. 1) You say that Jehovah is the one and only name of God, how do you know this. The answer I got was that it was derived from the hebrew letters for yaweh(sp?) now how do you get Jehovah from ywh? 2) I asked them if it was possible that God had a secret name known only to him and that anyother name was just what people gave him, their answer to that was would a person call me by anyother name than my true name, maybe but don't some people have nicknames that they go by? 3) Do Jehovah's Witnesses not have anything to celebrate? Surely God isn't that boring 4) How can you not participate in voting and things like that? You say you are not of this world does that mean if you were living in a house that wasn't your permanent home would you allow it to go to waste just cause it wasn't your home?

I am having a hard time believing a book written by man!!! I understand the bible and i've read it but am still having problems. It tells about these crazy feats that happened and they are outrageous! Second of all people go to church and believe that moses parted the red sea and jesus walked on water. Then take those same people out of the church setting and let someone tell them that jesus talk to them and into the straight jacket you go! Also where did the dinosaurs get mentioned etc etc etc Hard to believe that a book written by man thousand of years ago is true and that jesus might have just been another david blaine with a sales pitch!!!

This is one of the four noble truths of Buddhism. What are your opinions on this statement (not on Buddhism itself)?

he'll conqouer mankind through diplomacy

Obama might bedome president in 2008.
he raised to power way to fast,
he's loved by more people then ussual.
He wants to get rid of the bible because he feels the bible shows to much tolerance without penalty.
How did he gain so much charisma and gain so much love, how is it thaty both branches of gov are looking at him with joyful eyes
alot people think when he becomes the president he
'll save the nation
reminds me of the anti-christ
-------------------------------------------------------------
The bible talks about these moutains of fire crashing down and men are running through saying warn the ppl devastion devastion!! sounds like 9/11 to.

what if your wrong and there is no god and in the end it is all nothing but a cold empty place of not existing.
what if you live and worship your whole life a certain religion and the end when it comes to judgement it turns out you were wrong?
what if your wrong about your beliefs toward your religion and it turns to be inncorrect what then?
what if you find out the truth that all religions in the world is nothing but a lie. that they were indeed only created by someone who wanted power and authority over people and wasn't actually the word of god?
plz only oppions thx

That is completely disrespectful to all the Americans who don't believe in the bible or who believe in another book. Considering the fact that this country was founded for the sole purpose of religious freedom, I can't understand why our government force feeds us one certain flavor of it.

And honestly, has putting his hand on a bible ever stopped a president from lying, killing or doing other very sinful acts?

Many use church as a reason not to believe in or follow God himself. I wonder if many have actually just forgotten about churchy people and the organization and just went to God Himself. I am one who has experienced the legalism of friendly fire of the church. It destroyed my view of God and consequently I ran away from the one who loves me so much not understanding that I was blamming a counterfit idea of God on God himself. Once I actually trusted just God and got my head out of the CHURCH and opened my heart up to the real person of Jesus Christ, only then did I understand and know true love. Sometimes we need the church folks to just get out of the way and let God be God! OK!

Buddhism engourages the opposite way of thinking rather than believing in any religion, holy man, or holy book. That includes not believing in Buddhism. The whole point in Buddhism is they want you to find what is true for "you" and it doesn't have to agree with anyone else, not even the Buddha. Buddhism discourages from thinking outside of the "real world." They want you to see the "real world" as it really is without opinions or judgments. I consider Buddhism to be more scientific in its philosophy rather than religious. They even encourage people to go into meditation and write their own verses rather than following someone elses. Again, why is Buddhism about believing? Buddhism doesn't even address the issue of God. Buddhism is only concerned with the "real world" and its suffering.
