Nothing turns me off faster than watching some documentary about creationism, when suddenly the Christian god makes a guest appearance as the creator. Even if science could prove creationism beyond a doubt, why is the creator always assumed to be the Christian god? Proof of Creationism doesn't equate to proof of anyone's concept of god. Couldn't it be some god we have no previous revealed knowledge of?

"You cannot love everyone; it is ridiculous to think you can. If you love everyone and everything you lose your natural powers of selection and wind up being a pretty poor judge of character and quality. If anything is used too freely it loses its true meaning. Therefore, you should love strongly and completely those who deserve your love, but never turn the other cheek to your enemy."

the case for a creator by Lee Strobel, I'm just about a quarter of my way into it and am finding it very thought provoking.. I'm not bagging on anyone, just wondering if anyone read this book and if so, what did you think?

atheists: we think we're smarter than christians, who are either victims of infantile indoctrination or just plain stupid (or both)

christians: you think you have tapped into some universal truth that makes you right about everything and anyone who believes differently an arrogant pr**k.

isn't that pretty much right?

Wasnt jesus a good person? didnt he act with kindness and goodness towards others? from all I have read the answer is yes, so if he was a good person who died for sins (which are bad) in order to uphold the good, then why would he condemn people like him who are good to a burning hell hole, just because they did not believe in him as a person? I mean isnt accepting goodness the same as accepting jesus who was the embodiment of all that is good? Who is to say that my belief in goodness isnt the equivalent of believing in jesus by believeing in what he represented?
Basically what I am saying is do you think that you have missed the real point of what he was trying to say?? Jesus=good, believing in good and being good=believing in jesus and what he stood for
Therefore belief in being good = acceptance of the lesson jesus was trying to teach and therefore even if you dont actually believe in jesus as a person conciously, if you believe in good it is the equivalent of believing in him

Turning water into wine, appearing as a burning bush, parting the red sea... not to mention, rising from the dead and ascending into Heaven.

Back then, people were apparently given hard evidence. Why not today?

Check out John 17:4 - Should this not read " I am about to finish" keep in mind that Christ has not died on the cross yet. So how could he say he has (already) finished the work?

Oceans of peace and serenity.

one child lives and the parents say prayer saved their child, the second child died and his parents prayed just as much, why didn't prayer help the 2nd child? And if God already knows who he will allow to live, what's the point of praying?

On earth you're not allowed to give into sexual immorality and you're not supposed to go after the lustful pleasures this world offers, but in paradise all those restrictions are taken away. Can u explain to me why that is? In the bible there will be no sin allowed in heaven that was condemned here on earth.

1) Who am I? (What am I worth?)

2) Where did I come from?

3) Why am I here?

4) Where am I going after I die?

I'm a Christian and I know how I'd answer those questions. I'm just wondering how an Atheist would answer those questions.
