"You cannot love everyone; it is ridiculous to think you can. If you love everyone and everything you lose your natural powers of selection and wind up being a pretty poor judge of character and quality. If anything is used too freely it loses its true meaning. Therefore, you should love strongly and completely those who deserve your love, but never turn the other cheek to your enemy."

I think that a Christian can love everyone, a power endowed by God. That does not mean that A Christian has to like everyone, trust everyone, share things with everyone, and on and on and on... to love someone is to love what they are, a creation of God just as you are. You know, love the sinner but hate the sin... not any real difference.

God teaches us that there are sure priorities that we should have, and of course, your love is shared with those you hold dear. The key is that you should not hate, but that is pretty much a given if you 'love' all others. BTW, might want to check on the 'term' LOVE', in the Greek there are three distinct words that mean LOVE, but have significant differences in precise meaning.
Much of the text of our modern Bible is taken from the Greek, so the exercise is worth the effort.

I don't agree with the statement because it uses faulty logic to come to a conclusion that's not based on anything. Selection powers have nothing to do with enemies. Nor does love have anything to do w. character judgement.

I disagree, we are suppose to love everyone including our enemies, it is something they don't understand but also some people do make it very very difficult to love them. You should turn the other cheek violence will only beget violence and you end up in a never ending cycle.

A person can love everyone but dislike what that person does. Love the person/sinner, hate the wrong/sin. Example: A family member is hooked on drugs. You could still love that family member but hate the drug habit that the family member is involved in.

No, I do not agree. I assume considering you are asking this question on a religion and spirituality forum that you are referring to people who from a religious perspective say they "love everyone". Christian love is not a love for a particular person....it is a love of mankind. Keep in mind, that you don't need to LIKE what someone does or even like someone's personality to Love them in a spiritual manner. It is out of respect for God and his Creations..i.e. mankind.

No. I don't agree with it. Abiding in Christ, I can love everyone. But that would be unconditional love.

Loving others doesn't mean others are right. It just means that I am obeying my God and I have the love of God in my heart. It also means that I walk in forgivness. Jesus forgave me and forgot all my sins. So, I should do the same.

Yeah. It sounds like something out of the Church of Satan. I don't agree with everything they say, but those who say they "love everyone" without knowing someone define a sense of "acceptance" as "love," rather than letting love be special.

A wide angle lense can focus on a point. Loving everyone is not contrary to selection.

i don't agree with that statement. love not only means to be hugging each other and yarayarayar it means to do to other what you wish they do to you. if you go around returning bad to whoever treats you bad we always will have wars, murders, violence and if you are referring on what God says about love... actually we where made at god's image and god is love so naturally we have love in us but people are so involved with each others that they forgot about love and what love can do for humanity.
