What are the theories.

For years I've noticed the world becoming more and more religious/spiritual, favoring Christianity. But since the last election, I've noticed more and more atheists and agnostics coming out of the woodwork.
Has the tide changed? Are people fed up with born again Christianity?

do those who speaks lie against God, think that they know Islam better than muslims?

[37] .... Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate yourself to Allâh Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.
Quran 41:37

if u just know what Allah says to happen to those who speak lie about him while they KNOW, u will not do it.

500 BC
BUDDHA, THE GOSPEL

THE DISCIPLE SPEAKS
REJOICE

REJOICE at the glad tidings! The Buddha our Lord has found the
root of all evil; he has shown us the way of salvation. The Buddha
dispels the illusions of our mind and redeems us from the terror of
death.
The Buddha, our Lord, brings comfort to the weary and
sorrow-laden; he restores peace to those who are broken down under the
burden of life. He gives courage to the weak when they would fain give
up self-reliance and hope. You who suffer from the tribulations of
life, you who have to struggle and endure, you who yearn for a life of
truth, rejoice at the glad tidings! There is balm for the wounded, and
there is bread for the hungry. There is water for the thirsty, and
there is hope for the despairing. There is light for those in
darkness, and there is inexhaustible blessing for the upright.
Heal your wounds, you wounded, and eat your fill, you hungry.
Rest, you weary, and you who are thirsty quench your thirst. Look up
to the light, you who sit in darkness; be full of good cheer, you
who are forlorn.
Trust in truth, You who love the truth, for the kingdom of
righteousness is founded upon earth. The darkness of error is
dispelled by the light of truth. We can see our way and take firm
and certain steps. The Buddha, our Lord, has revealed the truth. The
truth cures our diseases and redeems us from perdition; the truth
strengthens us in life and in death; the truth alone can conquer the
evils of error. Rejoice at the glad tidings!

The only difference is interpretation of God....Man was spread out. Does God mean 'The Golden Rule'? Do unto others? Has religion been hijacked?

There is so much destruction, hate, crime, drugs, and sex going on in this world. Is this what is supposed to happen? When is it going to end? Why can't people just get along? Everyone has to be so difficult. I think the whole world needs to go Amish. I don't know, but somethings got to give. I hate thinking about what life is gonna be like when my kids are my age. And before you all ask, yes I am depressed!

my goddaughter is catholic. i was raised catholic but not practicing. she chose me to be her sponser for her confirmation. i needed to get a document signed by a priest stating that i was a person of 'good character'. i talk to a priest who is informed of my situation, looks at the paper and says 'so u want me to sign this so we both can be liars?' then he proceeds to chastise me, prejudge me and make assumptions of what he thinks of me as a person. he asked me questions about my personal life, girlfriend, living situation (do u live with her are u gonna marry her, etc.) and then he made assumptions about that.so i started telling him lies about that since i figured he wouldnt believe what i said anyway. i get ripped for about 10 minutes...felt like hrs though. i let him say what he wanted out of respect for his position and where we were at. he did say he would sign the document if i came back tommorow had another talk with him and become a 'man of honor'
i didnt go back. would u?

Ok, so you see a question aimed at a specific group... i.e. Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. Why do people who do not belong to that group find a burning need to answer the questions? No one is going to pay attention to what you write.

No one is holding a gun to your head making you adopt a rational belief system. If an irrational and unscientific belief system brings you inner peace, good for you!!! But why do feel it necessary to try to pass off your belief systems as rational?

if you believe in a loving Creator?

Pain and misery beyond imagination for eternity. For short-term actions. What is the justification? I have heard that it Hell is a place that sinners make for themselves. That God doesn't really send them there. Well, who made the rules that determine that people go there in the first place? If humans ourselves are making Hell purely by ourselves than we must be like gods. Nonsense.

I have heard that sins against an infinite God deserve an infinite punishment. How insanely cruel. WE are finite, stupid and fickle mortals. Why should we deserve an infinite anything? And considering the extreme cruelty of Hell, why doesn't God just forgive sinners and send them to a Catholic purgatory of sorts. He forgave us of our sins through Christ, which I hear we are undeserving of but He did it anyway. Now if we finite (relative) idiots make a mistake and then die before asking for forgiveness, we burn for eternity?

How can you justify this?

I know it is just a theory but dammit, the available facts fit, the evidence is corroborating, the observations agree, the experiments have positive results, the theory cannot be falsified.

How much more do they need?

I'm not racist, in fact I'm not even a christian. Everyone should be allowed to practice their own faith and build places of worship.
But... I have noticed that a few old churches in the area I live have now become mosques or other non christian buildings and I find myself wondering why the church as a body was allowing this to happen here. If a group of christians got together and wanted to convert an old mosque into a church in another country would it be allowed?
All views on this subject are welcome.

When I think about all the times that I was certain that I was right, and yet later realized I was wrong, it makes me quesiton how valid one's feelings of certainity really are. How is one to seek truth without allowing one's feeling of certainity to blind them from the fact that they might be wrong?
