No one is holding a gun to your head making you adopt a rational belief system. If an irrational and unscientific belief system brings you inner peace, good for you!!! But why do feel it necessary to try to pass off your belief systems as rational?

Our beliefs are based on experience, inborn desire for a creator adn purpose, hope and faith. Faith in God can never be scientifically proven, and I never expect it to be. I do not expect to pass of faith as rational. How can I hope to measure a being that exists outside our universe and penetrates with invisible needles that I cannot fathom how to measure?
Everthing else in my life demands a logical explanation. So in general I'm very scientific and rational.

I think that irrational is a subjective term. What one person may consider rational another person may consider irrational.
So, it is your opinion that Theists are irrational.
So, please don't accuse someone of being irrational simply because you don't agree with their choices or logic.
To me, living in an Ivory Tower is irrational (and tunnel visioned), but it may be very rational to you. Do you see the analogy here???

not all theists are irrational or unscientific.
science by its very definition cannot say what existed before our Universe was created because such things are not measurable.
as for evolution, big bang, and the age of the Universe I think that science is correct.
I too dont ask you to accept what I believe but how can you call it irrational?

Many of us have spent years studying evidence and then made a decision.Many of us have had experiences that cannot be explained away.Based on the things we have seen,studied,or heard,we make decision based on evidence.It may seem irrational to you,perhaps,but nothing could be futher from the truth.

You are trying to make two into one subject. Science is Science and Faith is faith. Were is the confusion? What is irrational is trying to blend them into one subject.
