There has been a geological explanation for this event, which happened again in recent history. Gas escaped from the earth and since the gas was heavier than the air, it sank to the ground, where small children and infants slept. In the morning, the gas had dissapated, but those children sleeping on the ground were dead from the gas. Not having geological knowledge BCE, the explanation was religious. Not too different from Apollo pulling the sun across the sky in his charriot!

Christians say God is always there. That God can only do so much, because there is sin in the world. That because there is sin in the world, that's why crap can happen.

If God is really there for people, why can innocent kids get hurt and abused?

The nation of Evil has plagued man throughout history. Many believed it is rooted in the superstitions of ignorant cave dwellers who created myth to explain their dangerous environment. Some feel evil is the lingering shadow of our prehistoric instincts for survival and domination. Others believe that evil is the creation of sentient beings who constantly torment mankind for their own inexplicable purposes. What do you think about this?

Is evil an aspect of human nature, or is it the work of some malevolent force beyond our comprehension? What are the Psychological theories about evil?

Who not only couldnt understand the concept of a God, but had a twisted sense of life and took joy from others suffering, and thus had to spend thier life masked and in a straight jacket so they wouldn't hurt others around them. Would they go to heaven?

you feel it wouldn't be right to share with just anybody?

Obviously YA has its share of "just anybodies" so I'm not asking for details.

Just looking for more thoughts on why something might be too sacred to share with everybody. Also if there are people you trust with the info, if so what makes them trustworthy, or ready to hear it?

Thanks

Each religion has their own number, so how many will actually get 'saved' in the end and what makes you think you're on the list? Don't worry, you can have my place in line, I'm gonna hang out here and watch the show.

I believe when we die our souls get thrown over the fence and we can't get `em back because a big mean cartoon bulldog lives on the other side. How about you?

YES! I see some do not believe this--but if you read Ephesians 1:11-14 it says:
11In him we were also chosen,[e] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory.

-The "he who endures till the end will be saved" is the one who comes out of the great tribulation-some will be saved during that time. But when we believe and confess our sins, and put our faith in Jesus Christ, we are SEALED with the Holy Spirit. Amen! Do you believe this?

...just wondering... The problem is solved, so why not to ask him back to lead the ministry? Or maybe conservatives don't believe in the transformative power of a prayer?

King James was a homosexual!

The first edition of the English Bible commonly known as the "King James Version" was printed in 1611. King James VI & I of Great Britain

had sponsored the project, and the translators appropriately dedicated

the new Bible to him. At this point in his own personal life, King James had already been involved in a love affair with one man, the Duke of Lennox, which provoked a rebellion in Scotland; his current lover in England was a young man whose special relationship with the king would earn him the Earldom of Somerset. By 1615, however, Somerset's fortunes declined and James succeeded in luring his most famous lover, George Villiers, later Duke of Buckingham, into bed. What are we to make of these relationships between King James and his so-called "favorites?" Many earlier historians treated the subject with shock, disdain, and denial. Only recently has the subject been treated more seriously and fairly by scholars such as Caroline Bingham, Jonathan Goldberg Roger Lockyer, and David Bergeron.

Is this evidence against evolution:

"One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time became more complex. That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it. [emphasis added]"
