YES! I see some do not believe this--but if you read Ephesians 1:11-14 it says:
11In him we were also chosen,[e] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory.

-The "he who endures till the end will be saved" is the one who comes out of the great tribulation-some will be saved during that time. But when we believe and confess our sins, and put our faith in Jesus Christ, we are SEALED with the Holy Spirit. Amen! Do you believe this?

It is called repentence-- and we who are saved KNOW we must have this--and we desire to serve the Lord. If there is no repentence, then one had a false conversion- there are false conversions- look at the parable of the sower in Luke.

seethelig---those are the ones who were never saved to begin with--when Jesus says "depart from me I never knew you" they are the ones who's heart was far from the Lord, even though the served Him with their lips.

Do you realize that when you are saved, you are always saved, and that when someone says they left christianity they were NEVER saved to begin with---it is easy to understand and the parable of the sower in Luke explains this. So he who endures, was always saved--he who does not, was not saved to begin with. It is called false conversion.

When I say "always saved" I mean he was always saved since He believed and repented of sin, and put His faith in Christ.

Hello Mibandibee

Lots of answers and many have listed requirements for salvation that we must meet. There is a lot of truth that repentance, and faith, and persevering, things like that are an important part of our salvation. Question is, is it possible for one who Jesus started a work of salvation in, do they finish it themselves, or is it up to their own strength? Jesus teaches us very clearly 2 things. One-that apart form Him we can do nothing, not even keep our salvation. He also teaches us that when salvation is begun in a person that God who began it will complete it. Salvation from start to finish is the work of God in us and He never fails to accomplish His purposes.

NOT at all. You quote that "he who endures till the end will be saved". This means that he "must continue in faith until death" as we are told in Rev 2:10. We are told that a Christian can fall in Gal 5:4-7; 1 Tim 4:1-3; Heb 3:12; 2 Tim 4:4-10. We are told that Christians can be restored by repentence and prayer in Acts 8:22. They can be restored by repentence and works Rev 2:5;16; 21. Christians can be kept from falling according to Jude 24. I believe this should be enough to show that a Christian can indeed fall from grace and be restored to HIS Grace. Why would you think that once a perswon is saved he must always be saved after reading these scriptures?

Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
1. HEAR - Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
2. BELIEVE - In Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
3. REPENT - Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4. CONFESS CHRIST - 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
5. BE BAPTIZED - Romans 6:3-4 do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6. CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL - Jesus said in Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

Am I saved? I am an Ex-believer and was saved and followed for a number of years, then gradually fell away once I did my own investigation of all the holy books (and my laptop).....side by side, may I add. Until one day, I proclaimed that this path was not for me.

Am I still saved?

My answer is that since I don't believe in the concept of salvation and heaven and hell, then, it really doesn't matter one way or the other, it's only a label, a status symbol. Surprisingly, I've been told by various Christians that I know personally, very different answers, so it really depends on which Christian you ask. This is the reason that I stress that the bible is filled with grave inconsistencies and misinterpretations by its followers, on top of that.

Peace...

For God so loved the world (it"s inhabitants) that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Once saved, always saved unless you deny Christ as your Savior after being saved, which a Christian would be incapable of. God sent his son as the supreme sacrifice who died for the forgiveness of sin. Pray about it, if you sin he is always willing to forgive you if you will ask for forgiveness. Just don't make a habit of it.

No. Matt. 24:13 says: "He that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved." Anyone who says he is saved now is jumping the gun. For us as individuals, “the end” may be either “the conclusion of the system of things” or our death, perhaps after long, hard testing. Once saved-always saved is not true.

You can only lose your salvation by giving it away yourself. Though...I have never met anyone that was TRULY saved and then decided to abandon God.

Keep in mind--TRULY saved.

You can grow up in Church your whole life and never know Jesus.

Salvation is a condition of the heart...not necessarily a one-time deal.

of course! once you are saved, God/Jesus will help you through anything. even when you stray, He will always be ready and waiting for you to come home (prodigal's son, anyone?) at least, that's what this Presbyterian believes. =]

Nope.

1) Salvation is a process, not an "event".

2) God will not drop us, true....but - the free will given to us gives us the opportunity to jump out of His hand if we so desire.
