NO. I do not think he went to hell. No way in hell.

No, and he'll probably do less time in purgatory than I will. He was a seeker. He understood more Holy Scripture than most Christians I have met.

It was Gandhi who said:

“What I want to achieve—what I have been striving and pining to achieve these thirty years—is self-realization, to see God face to face, to attain Moksha (spiritual deliverance) . . . I have not yet found Him, but I am seeking after Him . . . For it is an unbroken fortune to me that I am still so far from Him . . . I have not seen Him, neither have I known Him,”

That....is a Christian attitude.

I imagine that he will face the Judgment just as you and I will. The difference is that he is too late to change his obedience to GOD and YOU still have time. I hope that you have already decided that GOD is more important than anything else. Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
1. HEAR - Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
2. BELIEVE - In Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
3. REPENT - Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4. CONFESS CHRIST - 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
5. BE BAPTIZED - Romans 6:3-4 do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6. CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL - Jesus said in Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

No, Gandhi could not possibly go to hell.

What kind of a God would condemn such a man to hell?

No. I don't, and no, he was not an idol worshiper. I have met his grandson (Arun) and he talked very highly of his grandfather and of all of the great things that he did in his life. I don't believe that any God would punish him, and I don't believe in hell, either.

The flaw with born-again Christians is that they teach that he did, even though Christ taught that a man would be jusdged and rewarded according to his works.
