there cannot be any:At death we are resting in the grave until judgement day, so ghosts cannot be true.
But wicked spirits abound in the earth.

(John 5:27-29) 27 And he has given him authority to do judging, because Son of man he is. 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

(Acts 24:15) 15 and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

(Ecclesiastes 9:4-6) 4 For as respects whoever is joined to all the living there exists confidence, because a live dog is better off than a dead lion. 5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

(Romans 6:21-23) 21 What, then, was the fruit that YOU used to have at that time? Things of which YOU are now ashamed. For the end of those things is death. 22 However, now, because YOU were set free from sin but became slaves to God, YOU are having YOUR fruit in the way of holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Revelation 12:7-12) 7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi´cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God! 11 And they conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their witnessing, and they did not love their souls even in the face of death. 12 On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”

(Job 1:7) 7 Then the Lord said to Satan: “Where do you come from?” At that Satan answered God and said: “From roving about in the earth.

After this exile there will be no more suffering, only heavenly peace.
No more faith and hope only peace and an ecstacy of love.

I am an athiest and I love all people equally, but I really often enjoy hanging out with my Jewish friends. Historically as a small group, they have exhibited high success, intellect, talent, and education. On top of that, they are God's chosen people as even Jesus was Jewish. Why does every other religion waste their time with their beliefs when they could side and believe in the religion that makes them the "Chosen." (It even says so in the bible)

How much research about the translation did you do before you decided it was the one for you.

Just asking to satisfy my curiosity...not trying to start any debates here so let's not attack each other....

I have a really good friend that got married 7 months ago. Before she married, her husband was just what she wanted but once they married, he totally changed. He has been very mean and abusive to her and has just admitted that he has been using drugs. He has told her that he will not change for her. She is a very devoted Christian. She has never agreed with divorce because of what the Bible says about it. She is miserable. I have told her that God wants what is best for her but she is having a really hard time with this. What can I tell her to help her. I really belive that God will forgive her.

The Bible does not say "Only those who read the Bible shall be saved" or "Do this, this, and that, and you will go to heaven."

That's what those religious people that shove religion down your throat say.

Jesus did not come to start a religion!

He came to SAVE SOULS! The Bible says we all have sinned and fallen short of salvation. That's why we all need Jesus!

Agreed or not, are you understanding the concept of Christianity?

I refuse to tell you that Christianity is the only way to heaven!

I will say, however, that a RELATIONSHIP with the savior of mankind is!

And it's a gift!

You don't earn it!

Do you think that when we say "God is all-loving", that means that God doesn't punish us for that which we deserve?

Does a good and loving father not punish his child?

Ever heard of 'tough love'?

Sometimes it hurts when God corrects us.

I am a born-again christian and have been for 7 years now....praise God. After 9-11, I can only imagine how many atheists cringed when everyone (including liberal democrats) were singing 'God Bless America' and 'Glory Halleluah'.

So I ask again.....who did you turn to on that terrible day.....yourself? I certainly hope not.

May God be praised forever......

by that i mean my fiance and i have recently decided to renew our faith in the lord. but now he will only listen to christian music, watch Christian themed tv, movies..its my biggest fear realized, that he/we will become bland, generic ..too stoic...serious.. .he bought this cd set called "mysteries of the bible unveiled" and it was the tackiest thing i ever saw. it looked like they took a church congregation to be the(terrible) actors in it. it was horrible! so does that mean too that just because something is labeled Christian that you cant even be discerning anymore?
