Some say faith in general is not rational, or useful. I offer this logic:

- Everyone - Religious, agnostic, atheist, unsure - has FAITH. They simply choose what to put faith IN.

*FAITH that a bus that says "Downtown, Washington station" will actually take you to Washington station, not somewhere else. You get on because of your faith that the bus company's promise is valid.

*FAITH that a university will give you a degree if you complete all the requirements. You enroll, pay tuition and books, do a HUGE amount of work, spend time because you have faith that your school will issue the degree.

*FAITH that you can sue or appeal if a transit bus or university doesn't live up to promises.

*FAITH that the sun will come up tomorrow, and another day will come.

We plan our whole day, week, month, year around that faith, depending on it.

Do you agree that all of us use faith every day? How do you decide what to put faith in and why?

Including religion. We may believe what our parents told us . Or what we were taught in school . Or what we see on TV. These influences are cultural and have been passed down through the generations . So the actual truth cannot be discovered until we question the very essense of that culture and what we have been led to believe . Then and only then can one find true religion and peace with God. The bible said to test the spirits . And Jesus said that many would come in his name , but that they never knew him. I believe in Christ and that my sanctification is attributed to me by his grace and his sacrifice . I believe this not because I read it , but because enough evidence of his presence in my life . Good times and Bad .

"A Caananite woman from that vicinity come to him, crying out"Lord,Son of David, have mercy on me! My Daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possesion.Jesus did not answer a word.So his disciple came to him and urged him,*"Send her away, for she keep crying out after us."He(Jesus) answered,"I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."The woman come down and knelt before him "Lord,Help me!"She said.He (Jesus) replied,"It is not right to take the children's(Jews) bread, and toss it to their dogs(Gentile)"."Yes,lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters table" Then Jesus answered,"Woman, you have great faith!Your request is granted.' And her daughter was heal from that very hour'
(Matthew 15:22-28 NIV Bible)

This is why Jews don't take him as the Messiah,I guess, because what he said is seen as disgraced toward the Jewish society.
How can God said this?

The very early universe:
All our understanding of the very early universe (cosmogony) is speculative. No accelerator experiments currently probe sufficiently high energies to provide insight into this period. Scenarios differ radically. Some ideas include the Hartle-Hawking initial state, string landscape, brane inflation, string gas cosmology, and the ekpyrotic universe. Some of these ideas are mutually compatible, others are not.

The Planck epoch: 10-43 second:
If supersymmetry is correct, then at this time the four fundamental forces – electromagnetism, weak nuclear force, strong nuclear force and gravity – all have the same strength, so they are possibly unified into one fundamental force.

So my question is:
Where did the electromagnetism, weak nuclear force, strong nuclear force and gravity come from? Did they just poof out of nowhere? If you answer yes then you beleive in a higher power, if you answer no, then How were these things born/created/appeared.

1. Believing in God is like spending your entire life in jail waiting to see the judge

2. Simply believing the devil exist causes an unplesent feeling

3. Feeling attacked just because someone says "God is fake" is being in a very bad position

4.Feeling the need for God to watch over you is like thinking something or someone is always out to get you.

5.Christians are taught that they're nothing without God. So you spend your entire life thinking you're nothing without being accompanied?

6. Christians are taught that nobody's good. So they think they're living in a world where everyone's bad. Sounds like hell to me

This is why:

1 Corinthians 1:17-19

17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written:
“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

Because of the hardness of people's hearts. The world is in darkness....but Jesus is the Light of the world. When you say yes to Him....the blindfolds will come off....and you will be able to see the truth of sin.

The gospel message is open to all....but all wont receive it because of their self-reliance and unbelief. I pray that God will show unbelievers the truth about Himself.

Your thoughts?

No "read the bible" answers. They bore me. No direct quotes from either your holy book - Bible or whatever. Talk from your heart. I accept that you might be driven by the spirit from your God. But I want to hear you - a person of flesh and blood. I want to feel the connection before I could settle in the higher space. Talk to me!!!

It's really a rhetorical question, but I'm interested in your responses. Take ID, for example. ID doesn't imply the God of traditional theism; ID could well be accounted for by the kind of systems theory proposed here:

http://www.amazon.com/Interconnected-Universe-Conceptual-Foundations-Transdisciplinary/dp/9810222025/sr=8-1/qid=1170856749/ref=sr_1_1/102-5478643-1795354?ie=UTF8&s=books

Note that this kind of integration of systems, complexity, and quantum theory is a *naturalistic* explanation of anomalous phenomena appearing across disciplines, including quantum physics, cosmology, biology, and consciousness studies.

When you resort to a priori dismissal of anomalous phenomena for the sake of adherence to your paradigm, you impede the work of genuine science. Reality may not be what you think it is (in fact, if the history of science is any indicator, it certainly isn't), but that doesn't mean that traditional religion is right, either.
