What do you think "Methinks thou dost protest too much" meant when Shakespear said it in his play? Does it apply to some of the Atheist and Pagan responses to some questions from Christians?

since the beginning, someone has put down someone elses belief, because it didnt fit theirs. Religion, seems to be the biggest of all. I choose to wear socks with tennis shoes, some dont, should i be upset, that they dont believe like me? Now take the war for instance, Some say it is revelations coming true, some say not, if it is revelations coming true, doesnt it prove that God exists, why would a loving god start this blood shed, could it be satan himself putting hate and war in the mind of man? Just a question, we all can believe what we want, none of will no the answers till the end comes anyway.

Was it because it created strife? The Tribe with the most people starting to think they deserved more? More land, money from the treasury?

I grew up in a protestant-Christian area and am a non-believer now. So, my understanding is they both believe in the same characters that are in the Old Testament and that Jesus was a great man but not an actual son of God/the chosen one (?). I saw a program on the History channel that seemed to (in a nutshell) say that Mohammed didn't agree with Christianity and God spoke through him to get everyone back on the right track (which is Judaism-?)
I really don't know more than that so feel free to educate-no need to be sarcastic or mean.

I asked a question regarding Adam in the light of the movie Planet of the Apes.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuZ_h3Utu.bhadwiFgIx2QHd7BR.?qid=20070207082657AA9TPbJ

Adam, as the first ape to say no, rebelled against authority. Since then Adam's descendants have fought and pushed themselves to create civilizations, yada, yada, you know the movie.

Do Christians not see how stories reflect and manifest themselves over and over in all aspects of our universe to give us new and better insight?

If God(s) are objects of faith, then by definition it cannot be proven, as faith denotes belief without physical reason. The same is equally applied with logic, simply having faith in an event doesn't mean it'll happen; i.e. having faith you can fly by jumping off a building doesn't give you the capacity.

Those two things are a given. No amount of quotations from the bible or ad hominem logic will change an Atheists understanding just as no scientific proof will change a Christian's belief system. My question is why do Christians even bother trying to prove God to the Atheists, as proof is impossible?

based off of my previous question i'm going to have to go with faith. the way some people chose to answer it really showed that they had their blinders on and threw out all logic and accepted whatever they'd been taught as the perfect truth.
