Because ignorance. Cristians want to enjoy the taste of the poor animals suffering, with the excuse that they do not have soul. Jesus might had eaten meet, but he never said maintain slaughter houses.
Yes, dominion meas to protect, not to eat. Animal food is for those in the mode of ignorance.Vegetables also are living beings, but every living being has his quota of what kind of food he can eat. Animals can eat animals. The civilized human being, the religious human being, is not meant to kill and eat animals. If you stop killing animals and chant the holy name Christ, everything will be perfect.

While knowing more about nutrition has helped us have a more helathy lifestyle we choose the vegetarian diet, all animals have a purpose, and for some that is to be eaten. Animals eat other animals. Humans cannot eat all the animals so some animals are made to eat others.

Geez, it is the circle of life... Haven't you ever watched the Lion King?lol.

God gave us everything we need to survive on this earth. Some of the animals were put here for food and others are not meant to be for food. It is written in the Bible what is clean and unclean. I think if you're a vegetarian, that's great but don't put down others who don't follow your same beliefs.

At the time the bible was written I believe the practice of eating meat was needed. Now that it isn't needed, people still do it our of habit and possibly ignorance.

Chrisitanity is incredibly anthropocentric (believing that the entire world was placed here for humans and human use, quite egotistical and ridiculous to me) and so believe the world is here for them to use, including other living creatures.

It's one of the biggest issues I had with Christianity and was the reason I left.

God adores slaughter.

Don't you know the bible? Sometimes the animals are to be killed just for the sake of it. Remember burnt offerings?
