There is no proof of God, nor faith in logic; why do you try to use wrong logic?

If God(s) are objects of faith, then by definition it cannot be proven, as faith denotes belief without physical reason. The same is equally applied with logic, simply having faith in an event doesn't mean it'll happen; i.e. having faith you can fly by jumping off a building doesn't give you the capacity.

Those two things are a given. No amount of quotations from the bible or ad hominem logic will change an Atheists understanding just as no scientific proof will change a Christian's belief system. My question is why do Christians even bother trying to prove God to the Atheists, as proof is impossible?

Impossible....I believe in a God of the impossible. Beyond human understanding.. I've had 4 knee surgeries. I was in all the time, constant, every day pain. And God took it away. I have NO pain. It's not logical for it just to be gone but it is and God is the only explanation I have.

As for the argument that there is no proof of God, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Just because you don't have evidence of something doesn't mean it isn't there. Case in point: You wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at me what special skills I have. But that doesn't mean I can't play the keyboard and electric bass.

As you say a belief system can not be proven.

However, people change, grow and learn.

Its always worth talking about what you believe. You learn stuff, and grow as a person. Others ask questions that force you to open your eyes. Its been true for me.

I am pursuaded of God's existence and love talking with others about what they think - but respectfully, honestly and being willing to admit I don't have it all sewn up.

Making it all about what you currently know and consider proved is to risk closing your mind. I suggest being open to the possibility, asking more questions and seeing what happens.

Basically it's because they don't understand what proof means. They by and large have no understanding of logic or reason. The entire world to them boils down to what they "feel" is correct. A nice comfy dream world to live in but it has no relationship to reality.

You are right there is no proof. Not all atheists remain atheists for life. There are many who end up one day believing in God. Just because one won't listen doesn't mean the Christian should not keep trying to convert others.
