"Moksha" is the sanskrit word for "liberation", in Buddhism we use the term as liberation from samsara, or cyclic existence. It's not "greedy", because according to Buddhist teachings in order to really achieve liberation one must also cultivate altruism... which isn't really "greedy"... hope this helps.

What do you mean by greed. What I understand is any thing or benefit which I do not deserve but desire or aspire is greed. If this definition is accepted let us go to analyse what is moksha. As per the Sanskrit dictionary, moksha means reaching a state beyond pain and pleasure. That means pain or pleasure will not effect an individual.
This is the state every spiritual aspirant would like to reach. Then looking for moksha can not be called greed

Nice question but only that person can ask who knows "MOKSHA". Have you ever experienced Moksha? Greed is that you know and you want more. How can be Moksha a greed? "MOKSHA" is liberation. It is freedom from passion in normal meaning and freedom from routine cycle of life in religious meaning.
