I have see God come through in my life too many times for me to doubt Him. He has paid our bills with money that wasn't there, and has protected our home and family from harm and danger that was very close. Let me tell you just one story about what He has done.
We were a family of six, living in a 2 bedroom, 900 sq. ft. house. With the new baby, we were running out of room. We prayed that God would help us to find a bigger place that we could afford. A couple of days later, a friend which I hadn't spoken to in about 3 years called and said that her sister was moving out of their house and would we be interested in it. We went to look at the house, and returned home to discuss it. We had been home about 10 minutes. My wife had just asked, "How could we sell this house quickly enough to make the deal?" Before I could answer, there was a knock at the door. It was our neighbor, asking if there was any way we would consider selling our house to her daughter. The owners of the new house were asking more than we thought we could afford, and we would probably have to purchase new kitchen appliances as the ones we had must stay with the old house. The owners came down on their price to what we could afford and they asked if we would like for them to leave the kitchen appliances as their new house already had them. When we went to the bank, the loan officer I had been working with was unavailable, so I had to speak to another loan officer. He said, "I can do better on that interest rate", and he lowered our interest rate 1.25%. We were going to have to pay for a title search and a survey which was going to cost us about $900 more. He said, "We had the last loan on this house, and things haven't really changed, so we won't need any of that." We saved the $900. When we had looked at the house, the only thing that bothered me was the air conditioning unit. It was an older unit, and I told my wife, "Before long, we will have to replace that." The next week, lightning knocked out that unit and THEIR insurance put in a brand new unit before we ever moved in. There were just so many "coincidences" that it had to be the hand of God working. If I had time, I could tell you a numerous stories of the times when God has intervened in our lives to help us. Like the time I received a 25% raise just in time to meet my financial obligations, or the electrical short that should have burnt the house down but mysteriously stopped. Christ has never let me down and I can't imagine trying to go through life without Him by my side.

look around you, i mean really look. Do you believe that all this could stem from mere coincidence? the variety of nature, the food that tastes so good, the love we can share between each other.
I believe that God created us and that he loves us all, he promises a wonderful future for all humans, because he loves us. Think about the food we have- there is more choice and variety than we could ever need. God wants us to enjoy life, but he also knows what is best for us, I know you didnt want a quote from the Bible, but if you were to read the sermon on the mount, and see the wisdom in the teachings of Jesus, you would have to admit that if EVERYONE followed this, the worls would be a better place.
Follow God- The only true God Jehovah, because he loves you and will guide you. God has a purpose for this earth and it will be fulfilled, I want to be part of it. We cannot imagine how good that is going to be.

Same God. Period. Read a history book or read the Quran, it is the same as the Old Testament, all the differences are minor and they come in the interpretation of the lessons. The problem is when people think the way they worship God is right and the way others do it is wrong. Jesus is not God he is the son of God. This difference is important, especially in prayer. "According to the Bible, every prayer should be addressed to the Father and never to the Son or the Spirit. No single prayer is ever addressed to the other two Persons of the Trinity. By the same token, prayers are addressed to God the Father in the name of the Son. To pray in this way means to pray in the Son's authority, and He has given us authority to approach God the Father in prayer" "why don't you become a Muslim or a Jew if you say they are just as correct as you? Just because they are praying to the same God, doesnt mean the "religions" are anything alike. That is a rediculous question and if you dont understand why you really should learn more about religion. Please read more about this topic. This kind of confusion is what causes religious intolerance.

The Bible has not been proved untrue even by many scholars. Many scientists, while studying life and such, have felt misled by evolution and other theories, and have converted. Everything adds up. A man even set out to disprove Christianity and ended up becoming a believer himself! I think that book is called A case for Christ or something. Visit church, you will know!! Christianity has made my life so much better. There is SO much more to life and it all just makes more sense! I believe that Jesus Christ, the savior of the world, died for our sins and when we die, we will be brought to heaven to be with him if we truly believe. If not, you will go to hell and be tortured endlessly by the devil. Plus my aunt saw a vision of Jesus when she was 5 or 6 and had Leukemia. A week later she went to the doctor and the cancer was gone without a trace! It was a miracle!! There is only one true religion and to me, Christianity is the one! There are hitches in other's stories and holy books. Not one has been discover in the Bible! Talk to a christian friend about it. Something inside of you when you are a christian just makes you different, wether its how you ook at thing or how you feel, its just different and it is amazing. e-mail me anytime to talk : agirllikenoother@hotmail.com

Hi. I'm glad you posted this question and seem really sincere about it, and I hope I'll be able to help you out.
I'm a Christian and I am in love with my God and with Jesus Christ.
The one thing that will always make me forever grateful to Jesus is that, because of His great love, He died for me without the guarantee that I will ever love Him in return. The same holds true for you, whether you choose to believe it or not. It could've been the whole of humanity who should go to hell, but Jesus chose to take our place on the cross because He loves us. He died for you and me, WITHOUT THE GUARANTEE that we would ever love Him in return. That's the biggest risk this world will ever see. I personally have not encountered a similar situation in other religions.
Don't be afraid if you think you're too late to change or too messed up to approach God. Believe it or not, He will meet you where you are, whether you stand still in your situation or take a baby step toward Him.
I'm sorry if I've included a Bible reference. Check it out if you want to. It's the story of the Prodigal Son and is one of the best examples of how good and loving God is. It's in Luke 15:11-32.
If there's one thing I want you to remember after reading this, it's the risk Jesus took when He died for you. God bless you!
P.S. There is a certain religion that encourages hostility and violence towards one's enemy. My God wouldn't want that. What sets Christianity apart is that we are taught to love everyone, even our own enemies. I'm praying that you'll be properly guided.

Well first of all let me say that Im Muslim.
If I was given the choice to choose between any religions I would pick Islaam anyway.
Why?
Because Islam does a few things:
1. Teaches me the importance of Unity. God is One.
2. Teaches me that children are born pure and clean and we should do all we can to protect and preserve this clean nature all our lives.
3. Teaches me that obtaining any knowledge is obligatory.
4. Teaches me that God does not prefer anyone over anyone or anything and the amount of Love God has for anyone is in direct proportion to the way they do good and avoid doing bad on earth.
5. Gives me a framework of reference for everything in my life.
6 Teaches me that taking interest for money from anyone is forbidden because we should not take advantage of someone elses financial distress.
7. Teaches me that I am the sole responsible person for my sins and no one may die for them and I may not carry anyone elses sins.
8. Tells me that in trying to be good, one attains goodness. We are neither perfect nor evil.
9. Makes giving to the poor in secret, without advertising, a blessing, and advertising a sign of hypocrasy.
10. Tells me to respect the right of life of every creature and respect my elders and show kindness to the young ones and the poor.
I can go on and on...
Basically, Islam is practical and addresses my logic. It doesnt leave me stuck in superstition and still tells me that I need to be humble, because I did not create the earth and the mountains.

The only reason you would ever want to follow any deity is because they're real. No fictional deity is worth our time, and no book or set of man-made rules is worthy of a deity's time or attention.
We aren't worthy of any deity either, any more than an insect is worthy of human study. They're irrelevant to us until they get in our way.
The difference with the god of Judaism and Christianity is that he claims to be our father, and he wants a relationship with us. You simply choose for yourself whether you want to respond. The Bible is just a guidebook, really. It can't create a relationship. You have to talk to God yourself.

the reason anyone follows any religion is because it works for them.if you don't have actual proof that religion is changing your life for the better, then it isn't right for you. you have to show that you are changing for the better following a religion. I use to go to church and the priest would tell the guys, don't go out and party Saturday day night come to church on Sunday and pray for a crop failure. he explained god doesn't work that way. any religion if you do something stupid you are going to have consequences. there is no cure for stupid. so find something you can live with in your life and pursue it

Because the way the Bible says to live is the best (for health, and peace, and love) way. Everything that is listed as sin is BAD for you.
Dancer is referring to a book by Lee Strobel called the "Case for Christ." He was an atheist journalist who decided to investigate Christ and got saved.
