I've spent a lot of time in religion, and many other categories. I feel being able to rate a question with a thumbs doesn't hurt anyone. It's better that reporting, right? Who wants the innocent thumbs back? ;)

...for including the parts (i.e. in Revelation) that say when people stop believing in the fairy tale or things in the world get bad, its a sign (prophesy) that the Bible is true and you need to believe even harder?

Sort of an evil genius to it, really, by including self-fulfilling prophesies.
No? just dumb luck?

“Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven” (Mt. 12:31).

That means that any atheist or other non-believer that says they dont believe in the Holy Spirit is damned to hell even if they convert and beg for forgiveness right?

I have heard numerous things like the soul sleeps until God returns in the second coming. I know that when God comes back He'll raise the "bodies" of the deceased but does anyone know what happens for sure?

ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE!!!

He told me some things I needed to do and that I would die soon. He also showed me the end of the world and that I should go to church now. I don't know what to think because it wasn't a full person talking to me. Just a head on a counter. It was weird. Would you take this seriously or just as a crazy dream? I'm a Roman Catholic so I tend to believe it as real.

I have seen mutiple Bible believing Christians say on Y!A that the Old Testament is nailed to the cross.

Christians get this idea from Col. 2:13b-14:

Col 2:13-14 NASB

"He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. "

The phrase "certificate of debt" is many times understood as the Old Testament.

NASB has "certificate of debt" and it is translated in various ways in differnet translations:

NIV: written code
KJV: handwriting of ordinances
NKJV: handwriting of requirements
NRSV: the record

The greek word is "cheirographon". This term refers to "a document esp. a note of indebtness, is written in one's own hand as proof of obligation."^1

So when you understand this properly in the context the reference is not to the Old Testament but to an I.O.U. of sins.

For school, I have to research the religion in Myanmar (Burma), and in my presentation I need various props. As a result, I've been trying to find a site that explains how monks wrap their robes, so that I can demonstrate it on a doll, but no such luck.
Anyway, a detailed description of ho to wrap the robes would be great! Thank you so much!

Who are you?
What does this question mean to you? Do you answer with a name? Do you answer with a belief? I am Mike. I am athiest. I am a bassist, lyricist, and a thinker. I am all of these, and my personal beliefs and traits have so much more of an impact on who I am than my birth given name. Yet I answer with the name, Mike. I am Mike. Not I am Mike, the athiest bassist. I am Mike. The bassist, the athiest, the thinker, the believer, the hater, the lover, the friend. The inaudible sigh. The relief that noone hears or sees. Who are you?

Buffalo. What other animal in this world travels in herds so tightly woven, so dependant on what the buffalo in front of them do, that they will follow eachother off a cliff, effectively eradicating almost an entire herd? Humans. Humans herd together, and we follow eachother off of our own cliffs. Cliffs that we can't even see, because we're so far up the person's *** in front of us that we can't even see that we're going straight for a cliff. Metaphorically speaking, we're all headed for one cliff or another. Not very many people desire to walk off a cliff, it happens suddenly. Sometimes the person who's head is up your *** knocks you off before you get a chance to turn around and break away from the herd.

If you're lucky, you got put on the outer edges of the herd. You get to see what is happening, from a 3rd person perspective, and you decide not to follow the herd. You go off on your own, sometimes you're able to fend for yourself, sometimes you're still eaten. At least you weren't part of the herd.

The whole human race is one big herd, and there are the few of us who broke off from the herd, who see this happening and are way too weak to stop an entire stampede

Only serious answers please. Early philosophers said we exist of our own free will, not because God rules our existence. The exact time when our breathing stops is a combination of several factors, ---many of which we do or can control, not at some pre-ordained time as some fatalist scholars believe. What do you think?

I heard this non-musical does a wonderful job of showing Austria under Islamic rule.

No music. No innocent flirtations under the Gazebo. No joyous dancing. Just good ole Islamic culture.
