“Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven” (Mt. 12:31).

That means that any atheist or other non-believer that says they dont believe in the Holy Spirit is damned to hell even if they convert and beg for forgiveness right?

No, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is basically "turning yourself off" to the pleadings of the Holy Spirit, so that eventually you are unable to hear Him. It's like setting an alarm clock for a deaf person. If you become so closed off from God that even He cannot reach you, you will be hopelessly lost of your own doing. Atheists can and do become saved because they still leave themselves open to the pleadings of the Holy Spirit - they are willing to listen to Him when He calls.

According to the Christian New Testament, all one has to do is ask the Holy Spirit to come into their lives and accept Christ as their savior for forgiveness from all past transgressions. It states that no man is worthy of salvation, and only through Christ are they able to achieve this.

True Atheists however, would never "convert" back to Christianity because Atheism is the realization that all modern day religions are false or man-made. Therefore, with the evidence of any god being absent, it is more logical to assume that he does not exist. This is not an idea that could be reversed with out tangible proof.

Blasphemy is an unforgivable sin...

Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

Read that passage again.

It says "blaspheme against the holy spirit"

If you grieve God's gentle spirit/ the holy spirit, then NO, your sins will not be forgiven.
Saying that you do not believe in the holy spirit does not mean that you are hell bound.

No this is just nonsense. I can't really say that I don't believe in the holy spirit or God and everybody in heaven would be in hysterics laughing at me.

But if I did, God would love me just as much when I was done telling this whopper of a lie as he did before I started.

Love and blessings Don

No all sin is forgiven except the sin where you don't seek Gods mercy which is considered blasmphemy againts the most Holy Spirit. That means that the unforgivable sin is not repenting for your sins and not wanting Gods mercy

an example of this was that the Scribes and phariseesof Jesus day knew who he was and where he came from and attributed his miracles to the devil and so commited Blasphemy an unforgiveable sin they knew better but were completely wicked of heart and mind Gorbalizer

No. They're damned because they chose not to believe in the Holy Spirit. And if you don't believe in the Holy Spirit you won't accept God's gift. And that ends in hell. It's not because God doesn't forgive, it's because they don't choose to believe.

I hope so. Will you stop trying to convert us now?

But Acts (13:39) claims that "all that believe are justified from all things." Crap.

well blasphemy isnt necessarily not beliving in god, its more being defiant of god. cursing god.

knowing god exists but still denying him type thing.

*shrug* thats might just be my opinion anyway. if that is the case, then most anyone is doomed to hell.
