The punishment for sin was SPIRITUAL death.
We die physically after spiritual death.
God is not willing that any should perish. This is why God gave his uniquely born Son, to die as a SUBSTITUTE for us. He who knew no sin, was made sin for us so that we may have the righteousness of God.
Eternal life is a gift and available to everyone by simply believing in Jesus Christ.
We have free will.
Free choice.
The people in Noah's day were given 120 years to change their mind. They continued their evil ways.
The rainbow is our promise from God that he will never flood the Earth again.
Jesus is victorious over death.
He loves us all.
Peace out.

the Bible simply says: "God is love" If God is love, why would He punish you for ever.

Think on this: If I am in hell forever, don't I have eternal life also, even if it is one of torture.

The Bible also says that only God is immortal, so our soul is not immortal. When the Bible says that man became a living soul, it simply means Man became a living being. not two different entities living together in one body, like symbiosis.

God breathed in our nostrils, that is why we live.

Now ask yourself this: when your parents punished you for something you did, did they beat you forever? or did it last forever? No, of course not. So why would God who is much kinder than your parents, do that to anyone.

It is true that those who reject God will burn in hell, but the result will be eternal. They will be as chaff or let say ash that is blown away by the wind. even satan will be burned up. If that does not happen. sin will still exist even if it is in hell.

the first death is just a sleep, the second death is a complete destruction of sin

I hope I answered your question.

1. We're not all sinners.
2. Death isn't a punishment; it's how we're reborn into the Afterlife.
3. Hell isn't a punishment; it's a realm AWAY from God where the soul consciousness dwells from those people who didn't possess the Knowledge we need to have about God/Afterlife in order to find our way into the Light. Hell is a totally loveless place of overwhelming negativity and misery - its purpose isn't punishment even though it feels that way.

I believe that the the Greek Orthodox church defines "Hell" as being in the very presence of God -- but you won't like it.

I find it interesting that their definition of hell is similar to their definition of Heaven.

If you are an unrepentant sinner who is forced to endure in the presence of a holy god that you consider to be a prude and a killjoy, then I suppose that you won't enjoy it very much.

Sounds like hell (literally, "the second death" according to John) is something that you bring upon yourself.

The death from sin is the first death, not a physical death but the life of grace in the soul is removed, but this can be restored
The second death is physical and it is eternal and the judgement is final

Christians think that everyone is a sinner. And God sent down Jesus and killed him on cross for us.

Well if God created everyone and everything, why can't he just forgive us. Why go through that much of hussle.

The word "Trinity" comes from "Trinitas", a Latin abstract noun that means "three-ness", "the property of occurring three at once" or "three are one". The Greek term used for the Christian Trinity, "Τριάς" means "a set of three" or "the number three",[2] and has given the English word triad.

The first recorded use of the word in Christian theology was in about 180 AD by Theophilus of Antioch who used it of "God, his Word, and his Wisdom".[3] In about 200 AD Tertullian used it of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (As discussed below, the persons of the Trinity can be named in different ways.)

It was First Council of Nicaea who change the Bible

We are all sinners. It is the way you choose to live your life. You have options....either sin and know it or choose a righteous path. God is a force for us to reckon with. There is no wrong in following his word. Hell is for atheists and people who do not follow. You have a choice.

I said that..

"Death"--a big biblical concept.

Hell is not God's 'punishment'. Death is.

We all die, obviously. Hell is the absence of God's presence. If, when we die, we are not perfect, we would go somewhere where God is not there with us, because God can't exist around sin. That's why we have to be saved--through Christ, God sees us as pure and holy.

The fact the Satan dwells in Hell (Hell was created for demons and fallen angels, not us) is where the torture comes in. Satan hates us because he hates God and we are made in his image.

Does that help?

We're dual beings (spiritual and physical) so there are two kinds of death:
1) separation from your body (physical)

2) Separation from God (spiritual or Hell as many call it).

Let me add, and big point of the Gospel is the "good news" that redemption from both are promised or available.

For those who are not washed in the blood of Christ separation from God is their reward.

Hell is not eternal torture as some teach. This fallacy can easily be documented wrong by God's Word. Hell is only temporary separation from God till the great white throne.
