First of all, before I post my background. Please don't go hating on me just because I asked a controversial question. Religion has caused numerous wars and conflicts and they still do. Please state your opinion and why? No 'all the religions are equal' statements please.

The reason why I asked this question is, wherever you go; you hear people calling their religion the best. Most philosophers and writers say this is based on their personal experiences.
Cut the crap.
I'm a Christian and I'm pretty sure Christianity is the true religion in the world. No doubt, I've doubted it tons of times but eventually no matter which way I think about it. There doesn't seem to be a possibility of any other religion that could compare to it. There's historical and spiritual evidence.
I thought about Judaism and Islam but there isn't enough substantial evidence that it is true. True the Torah and Quran are written first person experiences with each religion, but otherwise what else?

Here is a simple question- who goes to Haven, Hitler, if he believed in jesus, or Ghandi, a man who advocated peace, but didn't worship jesus?
Its a no brainer- Ghandi- But I have encounted people who think you could be a serial killer- but if you worshipped Jesus, you'd see Heaven, but the charitable good person- who happened to not believe in jesus- would burn in Hell..
Where is the compassion or logic? Its illogic that that that made me abandon Christianity..

For the most part we live in a secular society so aside from the religious aspect why do non-religious people hate gays? The bible says a great many things on a great many subjects so why do people take that one issue as reason to hate? The bible says you should stone your children for disrespecting you and adultery is also addressed in a similar fashion yet today those are considered acceptable behaviors. Adultery causes far more damage to family and society then 2 single men having consensual sex. If people chose to discriminate against gays because it's mentioned in the bible then why not disrespectful children, adulters and those who takes the lords name in vain? Why is it OK to pick and choose what part of the bible you are going to follow? If you follow the bible then people should be stoning their children when they get mouthy. Why didn't Jesus at least mention something about gays if it's OK to hate them? Its not even mentioned in the 10 commandments but adultery is.

Can you not read? Or can you not think intelligently? Or maybe you are just astounded beyond comprehension at the mental and philosophical depth of my questions.

This question is referring to the plain fact that four of my last five questions have received ZERO answers thus far! I know, I know ..... I can't believe it either!

So will this question break that trend, or will the mindbusters go to five out of six questions? You may help to decide this ...... but I have already decided that you will NOT receive my Best Answer points!

Good luck anyway!

i always thought about taking on Christianity, but i have sum issues' with the religion, I'm lead to believe that it is a religion of peace love and harmony to forgive the bad people of this world and love everybody, but why is there a place called hell why do Christians banish people who will not except Christ to hell, why the threats to these people, god gave us free will, but why would god make up such a place as hell ( or god never really made that place up it was humans that made hell to exist to scare people into believing they will go there just to force them to join there religion) WHY THE THREATS when supposing Christianity is a religion of love peace and harmony for everybody, why would i want to be a Christian when they make threats to other people, because to me making threats to people is the most evil form of abuse and undermining

Well people keep adding stuff to the bible. Like rules and stuff to live by, but were are they coming up with this stuff? Do they just think its a good idea? It seems like there are too many rules and some people tell me if you sin (even if you disrespect your parents, ect) and dont repent that you will go to hell. And its really confusing me cause I feel like i wont go to heaven because I have sinned in my life and havent repented for EVERY single one.

I had an interesting debate with a person, who insists that it not possible for a person who doesnt beleive in God to be a moral person. I disagreed- some of the most immoral people I have met happen to be VERY religious, and some or the most moral people i have met are agnostic or athiests..- and I think morality has nothing to do with a persons faith in a deity. It hinges on how they treat other people. What do you all think?

Does God approve of abortion?

Hosea 13:15-16

Though he be fruitful among [his] brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.

Hsa 13:16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

Jesus was not a catholic, evangelist, baptist, or any other relgion that is heard of, he wasn't even a christian. The word is only mentioned in the bible 2 times. He was simply christ.

Some will say that he was Jewish. This is true. Jew is not a religion. Jesus was born an Isrealite out of the tribe of Judah. The RELIGIOUS leaders were responsible for Jesus being crucified. And if you claim to be religious you are in the same category as those that killed him.

I Just want to know why so many are hung up on religion, When Jesus said nothing about being a certain religion, all he mentioned was to take up your cross and follow Him.

Jam 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world.

that I am the decendant of a monkey-gator and a fish-bird having sex with each other? Also, why do atheists always say that Christians pick and choose what things they claim are true in the bible, while atheists pick and choose what aspects of Darwinism they believe in. Nobody talks about Darwin's views that blacks were the missing link between Apes and the white man.

'For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.'

Discussion of this passage with a Jehovah's Witness usually goes like this:

'Who is this child born unto us?'
'It is Jesus Christ'
'What does the verse call Him?'
'It calls Him Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God...'
'The mighty who?'
'Well, it calls Him the Mighty God, but He's not the Almighty God, who is Jehovah, the Father.'
'What does it call Him after the mighty God?'
(Silence)

A Christian telling someone about Christianity is like one hungry person showing another hungry person where to find bread.

Atheism is like two people who can't see any bread from where they stand, assuming there must not be any, and congratulating each other on their amazing powers of observation.
