Remember that Snickers ad during the SuperBowl of two men kissing? Yeah that was a hilarous commercial. Yet Snickers pulled the ad because the The Human Rights Campaign and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation complained."

Children are considered atheists because they lack the belief in any deity. They cant be agnostic because they cant question God(s). I was wondering how you consider Atheism as a religion. Lack of belief is not the same as believing!

It was stated "It is a philosophy." A religion is a philosophy and it takes faith to believe that there is no creator or nothing in control. With out trying to play word games explain why Atheism is not/is a religion.

I mean, perhaps it has never happened, but the authors were foretelling something to happen in the future?

And do you think perhaps the ark would be a spaceship that Noah takes to another planet to save the human race and all those animals?

A lot of atheist in yahoo answers generalize and insult christians, and say they have a bad education and such. I have also heard people say that christians have a low IQ, and waste their time, or christians "steal" money from the elderly.

Are christians really this bad?

What did we do to atheists?

Just because we dissagree in some points does not mean we have to call the other people stupid. What does it cost people to say good things instead of bad? Christians pay taxes, go to school, have jobs, try to maintain a family, and work hard most of the time.

Why won't people stop degrading Christians?

Seriously, people will spend months, and exhaust numerous sources to make a decision on a TV or an automobile, but they seem to choose their religion either because they are born into it or just because someone along the line made an argument that appealed to them in some way.

You would think your entire worldview (and sometimes, if you believe, your eternity) would warrent a much much closer look than that Benz you've been eyeing for a few weeks.

What's more is that religions actually endorse a method of not thinking about the choice. Those who choose most blindly seem to be rewarded the greatest by their religion.

To those that will argue from personal experience i have this to say. Something made you attatch that specific significance to your experience. Had you not been exposed to Christianity, Buddhism, or whatever, it would have been something else.

For Christ's sake, man. Get a life!!! No wonder I didn't subconciously label this discussion forum a high priority.

Atheists claim to have a non-violent Religion. I disagree.

I work in a corrections facility and I can tell you from my own experience that most "Christian" prisoners are not Christians. They do go to chapel frequently but most go to pass stuff to other inmates or frankly for something to do. For those few that are true Christians, I see a drastic change in their behavior...from negative to positive...from disrespectful to respect ....from violent to non violent etc. I did not state in my previous question that atheists had no morals. But in all reality, how many people do you know that are truly moral? People who only follow their own desires rather than looking somewhere else for guidance usually choose the easiest road. That is human nature. Psychology 101.

7-9 inch nails were placed between the bones of the forearm and the small bones of the hands. A nail placed at this point would sever the largest nerve in the hand, causing severe burning pain and permanent paralysis of the hand. A nail was also placed in the feet. Having been pinned to the cross with the knees flexed at about 45 degrees, the victim must bear his weight with the muscles of the thigh. (try to stand with your knees flexed at 45 degrees for 5 minutes.) As the strength of the legs gives out, the weight of the body is borne by the the arms and shoulders, within a few minutes the whole arm becomes dislocated, as a result, considerable body weight is transferred to the chest, this causes breathing to become difficult. In order to exhale the victim must push down on his weakening feet to allow the rib muscles to relax. CO2 begins to rise. Over a period of several hours the combination of collapsing lungs, failing heart, and dehydration, the victim slowly suffocates to death.
