A small taste of it when I'm doing the "sorrow" or "feeling bad" part of the repentance process, as I face that separation I created by my bad actions - man that can be intensely, emotionally and spiritually painful!

Yes, I agree with you, however, we may have that separation from God eternally if we choose to follow other paths in this life. And it will feel like fire and brimstone.

Yes, I have felt that here on earth. Every time I go against God's will for me I separate myself from Him and I feel something of that hell right here on earth.

I personally believe that their won't be "actual" fire in Hell. I believe it isto signify the seperation from God. God used many signs and meanings for many things.

Either way, it doesn't really matter, since I don't want to be in Hell to find out.

But to answer that question,

I don't think there will be any pain on Earth that will be able to fathom the pain there will be in Hell.

yes i too believe this very thing. eternal damnation and Hell are to very different places. Loneliness, self loathing, low self esteem. These are a few of my personal pains and struggles, the power of prayer and the Bible have brought me comfort.

the bible describes Hell as a literal real place. We cannot "soften" the reality of hell.
