I mean, perhaps it has never happened, but the authors were foretelling something to happen in the future?

And do you think perhaps the ark would be a spaceship that Noah takes to another planet to save the human race and all those animals?

Yeah, I don't believe in the Bible, it's just an interesting question.

Well the flood is considered the earth's "baptism by water" and while I think it did happen (though I admit I have no clue on the exact scale of it - nor does that particularly bother me), I understand it is a "type" or a prophetic example of the earth's "baptism by fire" which is yet to happen.

It was a story. It never happened. It never will happen.

The only way to reconcile it with anything is to remove the global destruction and link it to the Black Sea flood or the Santorini tsunami. Both of these involved immense local destruction but not absolute local destruction, much less global destruction.

No, that is even sillier than the original idea.

For example, does any religious book mention a boat? Well obviously, a prophecy that Columbus would sail to the Americas.

I don't think so.
Actually Noah's ark has been found. It's not the rock sticking out of the mountain that looks like the bow of a ship; it's higher up inside the mountain. I know you don't believe this but it is fact.

No, because only the book of Daniel and the book of Revilation have prophecy.

Noah, as most of the bible, is fiction. Never happened and never will happen.
