God has allowed some very hurtful things in my life recently and I've had alot of hurtful things all throughout my life. I try to focus on the blessings He has given me but I'm human and sometimes I can't help but question why I am having to be hurt like this yet again. What do you do when God doesn't make sense?

It seems there's some confusion/misinterpretation on this forum on what atheism means.

Please give a SIMPLE definition (not a misconception).

There is a lady that attends a Pencostal Church that told me that the Devil makes my little one have asthma and lung problems. I myself do not believe this since I am a former Nurse. What is your truthful opion regards to the belief of the Pencostal of the Devil making innocent children sick. Let alone adults also.

everyone has their own beliefs, everyone views bible versuse differently, everyone has different ideas and the scariest thing of all is people trying to get everyone else to think like them and what happens there would be no longer any differences in the world that makes the world a interesting place. why is religion have to be so so confusing no matter what belief you are.

Does the Church of JCLDS have an official position on the death penalty? Are there Mormons on both sides of the issue? Or do they generally lean one way?

Luke 4:43..."But he said to them: “Also to other cities I must declare the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this I was sent forth.”

This is what Jesus was sent forth to do...tell of the good news of the kingdom of God, so it seems that this kingdom must be very important, but what exactly is it?

When the issue of health care costs comes up, people will invariably complain about the costs of treating obese people, yet never say a word about the costs of treating anorexics. I realize that there are more obese people, but I wonder just the same: do you think this has something to do with gluttony being one of the seven deadly sins? Why don't people complain about treating anorexic people?

I'm am amazed at the amount of intolerance and ignorance on this board when it comes to the War on Terror.

It's not only the war, but the intolerance concerning Muslims, whether it's a Senator from Illinois (whose bio states that he is a Christian and member of the United Church of Christ), or the family down the street. One can only hope that the myopic viewpoints on this board aren't an actual reflection of the populace of this country.

You do understand that terrorist groups use Islam as a means to create suicide bombers based on the promise of a glorious afterlife.

This is supposed to be a war against terror, not a war against Islam. Blame the terrorist groups, not the religion.

Stating that Islam is responsible for the suicide bombers would be akin to stating that Catholicism was responsible for the development of the Irish Republican Army, and their use of explosives during their conflict.

This is a conflict, not a crusade (which would be English for jihad).
