Where?

The Bible says we shouldn't eat shrimp.

Why do many people who eat shrimp still believe in God?

Wow, what an ignorant question. I don't even know where to start....

Umm, gay people are people just like everyone else, they have beliefs and feelings and everything that we all have. They can believe in God just like you or me. The difference is that they do not believe that what they are doing is essentially wrong in the eyes of God. The bible was created by humans under the divine inspiration of God. Since humans are not perfect, that leaves room for error in the bible. The gays can believe that there is a God who will protect them and love them no matter what their sexual preference is without having to believe that God things what they are doing is wrong. Perhaps a better question to ask is "Why is it that so many people who engage in premarital sex, still believe in God when the bible speaks badly of them?" Its because these people have different beliefs in what the bible is saying rather than the basic idea that God exists.

Personally, I am a straight male with a very attractive girlfriend and Roman Catholic beliefs. I believe that God loves everyone regardless of sexual preference, religion, skin color, or other circumstances. Whether or not you believe that, my friend, is your issue.

Edit - Just saw above answers, and I had to say, being gay is NOT a problem and only sinful when sexual acts are engaged in, just as premarital sex is wrong for straight people. If you do not consider premarital sex a sin, then neither is homosexuality. I know plenty of gays and lesbians who are great overall people. What is wrong with the world today??? If people want to love others of the same sex, let them, its not your problem and it is certainly not theirs.

The Bible calls homosexuality a sin, but it does not say that God hates gays or that gays should be shunned. In fact, the Bible also tells us that no sin is worse than another. That's right: in God's eyes, homosexuality, murder, and talking back to an elder are all equally bad. The Bible teaches that we are all sinners. People are saved through God's mercy and their acceptance of that mercy, not by being perfect. Some gay people understand this, others don't but still try in earnest to accept God. There is no contradiction.

Because they know that what's in the Bible has be interpreted by a million different people a million times before we have the finished product.

If a person believes in the Bible they know that the God in that Bible would never speak badly of them.

I don't even believe in God or the Bible and I know that much.....just by doing a little research.

The bible is man's interpretation of prophecy inspired thought guided by god's commands. The bible is a a combined books of laws and guidance that is divine. I believe that there are many missing or purposely omitted documents of Prophets divine inspirations. There is many things to know and to discover and only when we cease to exist , will we then know the questions to all that we have wondered throughout history. The bible contradicts many things throughout each book. It is for the inner self to decide what is factual and what is falsified. We do have the power of human nature and of choice. Love is Love and if one loves another what should it matter as long as it did not impose you to act the same by example. Read the New Testament

he's not a real Christian. It makes me so offended when I hear people like this, because it makes authentic Christians look undesirable. i'm Christian and that i understand for a shown reality that you're one hundred% proper. in hardship-free words God has the authority to confirm what's a sin and what's not a sin. purely because guy says something is faulty does not mean that it really is incorrect contained in the eyes of God. it really is ironic regardless of the reality that, because contained in the proper he should be the only which gained't flow to heaven, and he would not even understand it.

God spoke bad about everyone in the old testament, God was a bully waiting to cause suffering to the first human to make a human mistake (if the bible is true). I personally believe in a God or some sort of higher power and don't believe that gays will be punished, maybe gays don't believe in that kind of God. I personally don't want a Bigot god, if our god is a bigot they're no god of mine.

Alot of people believe in God, but still continue to sin, knowing what the bible has to say about it. Yes, God loves gay people as much as you or I, but yes, God hates the sin of homosexuality as stated in Romans. One must choose to live for Christ, not for self, to be born again as stated in Matthew to have eternal security with God and His Son in Heaven. Whether we agree with the Lord's word or not doesn't change God's mind or His eternal rewards or judgements. Thank God these gay people believe, but remember, even satan believes. Hopefully if they have a personal relationship with Jesus, their lives, choices will change.

It makes me laugh when people say let God sort it out, what sort of answer is that.

An all loving God he is supposed to be, except when he is killing thousands in tsunamis and at Soddom and Gomorah, and all the disease and famine etc

I suppose why gay folk still believe in him is because they need to believe in something. Just because someone is Gay it doesn't make them any different than a straight person so why can't they believe in what they want to believe. He doesn't exist anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Not all Christians believe that everything in the Bible is true. Also, not all people who believe in a god believe in the Christian God.

Look, I'm pagan, yet I believe in Jesus, his Idea, and what he stood for. HE STOOD FOR LOVE! And all that is contained within it. So what if someone's gay, or lesbian, or whatever. Who cares!? Gays, well, look, why should we judge them....? I stand for love, and the salvation that comes thru that. Is that wrong? Nope! We all have seen a stained glass window, right? Well, humanity is like that window...illuminated by the same light, yet different. God, in His Infinite Wisdom, knew that we would all be different, but guess what.... HE accepts you for who and what you are. All that we must do is accept each other....
