Allow me to give you a Biblical Christian's point of view (aka, "fundie Xian"):
Eve was taken from Adam's rib, his side, not his head, meaning she should be over him, and NOT his feet, meaning she should be under him. She was taken from his side, to stand as an equal partner.

Lastly, perhaps Jesus sharply rebuked his mother because, being GOD, He knew exactly what kind of "worship" and prayer she was going to receive long after she was dead.
Mary was a human being, a sinner just like the rest of us, and yet she is called "sinless" and is prayed to on a constant basis. For shame!
