I live in Atlanta. This was just in our newspaper as one of the Wiccan church leaders here is ill, Ravenwood, maybe you have heard of it. I never thought it bad. I have known about Wiccan for a while. While the word "witch" is used. You are not a witch by the public standardor how it is normally meant. It is different (not meaning bad) sect of religion that dates back over 800 years to the Celtic people. I will be honest and say I do not know a whole lot about Wiccan, but I say more power to you and what you believe in. That is what this country is about. Freedom of religion. We would not be here without that.

I am Wiccan for many reasons.
The idea that the universe is the body of the God/dess makes powerful intuitive sense to me, as does the idea of a Deity that truly loves His/Her creation -- so much so that there is no Hell, and that everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs (or lack thereof), is treated with the same love and care. I love the fact that we do not prosyletize, trusting our God/dess to call those who are ready to follow Them; I love the "live and let live" attitude that Wiccans generally share.
I love the ritual forms. I love the beauty and the power I sense when I connect with the God/dess through meditation and worship. I love the Wiccan Rede: "If it harm none, do what you will" -- a deceptively simple creed that takes years to contemplate and to master. I love meeting with other Wiccans and engaging them as fellow priest/esses. There are many reasons that I am a Wiccan that space will not permit me to share.
That said, it is definitely NOT a religion for everybody, or even for most people. The dedication required is too high, the course of study too strenuous; many people will prefer a religion that demands less of its followers. But for me, at this time in my life, it is the best path.

I have no problem with Wiccans, but I'm a Happy Pagan Earth Mother...I have the feeling you'll get slammed by the Christians, though, bless them.
Myself, I don't like a lot of ritual so I stay 99% solitary. I prefer speaking to the Gods and Spirits face to face over a cup of tea or whatever else I'm having. Usually they join in. Ginger cookies seem to be a favourite snack with us, but it's whatever people are comfortable with provided no one else gets hurt. I know quite a few other Earth Mothers and our job is doing that job and staying out of sight while we do it.
Honestly I don't see what the whole fuss is over Religion. It's all the Faces of the Divine, One God Many Names, Multiple Paths One Destination...yadayadayada....Blessings.

First off to those that think another's faith is that devil, well, what the heck gives you the right to be that superior!?!?!? Who said you are better than me???? Listen VERY closely: Jesus said "Love thy fellow man, whosoever he is". It doesn't matter what faith you are. If you love the world around you, and all that it is, guess what? You are following in His footsteps. No questions. Wiccas have been destroyed as a people. Why? Because some fool went on a power trip. And one other thing: Do any of you know why this war is going on? Because of delusion and intolorance to another's faith. Think about that next time you, whoever you are, decide to judge first without knowing what is really going on.... Done

I'm Wiccan too, I think too many people misunderstand us and there are alot of people who call themselves Wiccan that dont follow the Principles of Wiccan belief, but we are a respectable and peaceful religion.
You might like my vids on You Tube, Here's my channel. It's mostly Wiccan stuff.

I respect and applaud anyone who has chosen a path and lives by that choice. We all decide who we are and in doing that we need to "find a base".
I would only object to any practice that would force it's influence on, or in anyway harm other people. As long as you truly believe in something and set standards to live by, your ok in my book. "To thine own self be true."
