I know that its hard. Being a Christian is never easy ... not only are we forced to deal with the fact that all the negative things that happen to us are for a greater purpose, we are expected to explain this to a generally unbelieving public.
I am a 26 year old female. When I was 13, I was raped by a 45 year old neighbor, who threatened to kill me if I ever told anyone. I had to see him everyday, and I believed him. What I didn't know at the time was that I contracted Chlamydia from this ... I experienced some pain but couldn't bring myself to ask my mother to take me to the doctor. I developed Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and ended up in the emergency room. My uterus was so scarred from this on-going infection that, at the age of 14, I was told that I'd never be able to have children. I was angry at everyone -- myself, that man, my parents, God -- I was an innocent kid and a big part of my future was taken away.
I tell you this not to incite pity for myself, but to show you that these hard times in life can be overcome. I still want very much to have children of my own ... but I can't. However, I am now married to a wonderful man who has 2 children of his own -- his first wife died while giving birth to their second child. The elder doesn't remember her mother, as she was too young to remember her. I see now that it was my place to be a loving step-mother and a blessing to these two kids that I wouldn't give up for the world.
Trust me when I say that God has a plan for you, too. Pray for clarity. Ask God to help you understand what his greater plan for your life is. Ask him to show you what you need to learn and accomplish through all the suffering. I'll be praying for you also. Take care and God bless. <><
By the way, don't pay attention to these people who try to convince you to give up hope. Just because they have lost faith doesn't mean that you have to.

Have you ever wondered WHY God has 'allowed' all of this 'hurtful stuff' to happen to you? Have you ever ASKED HIM why he does that? I had a friend who had a job where people asked questions that really 'tried his patience' so every night he asked God to 'help him learn to be more patient' ... until one night he realized that 'all of those trying people' were sent to him by God to help him learn to be more patient. The next day (and every day after) the people didn't seem nearly as 'trying' and he was far more 'patient' than ever before. God ALWAYS 'makes sense' and it is just us humans who need to start 'seeing things God's way', and not 'argue with God' because he's 'not making sense.' TRY IT ... it really does work.

You are not being punished by a "God." Life is hard. People are hurtful. Situations are unpleasant. Things happen. But if you believe in God, then I believe that that God would want you to not take it out on him or her and take positive and affirmative steps in the right direction to help yourself feel better. If you do one thing nice for yourself - a hot bath, a nice meal, quiet time or something you like to do to "get centered" - you will do yourself a lot more good than bad. Then, make this a habit - be friendly to yourself. You will be with you your whole life.

you should read and learn about a speaker by the name of Joyce Meyers. She had some very hurtful things (abuse - certain type) happen to her growing up that she had to overcome. She asked so many times why this was happening to her growing up. Read "Beauty from Ashes", she talks alot about her painful past and overcoming it after she was married twice! She's a very powerful speaker which isn't one that is like distant! She's like super hilarious!! You can watch her program (look in ur tv guide) for the channels its on because the times are 5am and 7:30am Central time USA (do the math for time zones). Like one person said, "She can be nailing you to the wall over something and you're laughing the whole way because she's just really hilarioius and she tells stuff on/about herself that no one would else dare tell about/on themselves!!

You've no doubt heard before of heroine addicts and such who later kick the habit and become a great inspiration to many people. Do you think that when those people were still addicts, they had no purpose?
All things in life have purpose, even if we don't understand why.

God always makes sense if we ask him for direction and listen to his will for us.If we follow his will and talk to him daily then we will see what he wants for us.If I go against his will and then something bad happens to me I dont blame God but I am to blame. You are not listening well enough and you need to slow down and ask him for guidance and always praise him for all the good things in life.Even the nonbelievers who answered have good things happen to them as well as bad,we christians just have a higher power to turn to.In the end we live in paradise while they live in torment and pain.Keep your head up and pray through it.I too am having it tough but God always pulls through for me.

I read a book called "When God doesnt make sense" by James Dobson. It explores that whole line of thinking.
Just remember youre not on this earth to keep your feelings inteact. If you are living your life for Jesus then doing Gods will is the most important thing in this life. Uur car, dog, children, pride, feelings come 2nd. Part of embracing the Gospel is letting go of yourself. Jesus said we need to be crucified with him daily. That means we need to let go of our lives.

god is those parts that do make sense
it is things of man that are sensless
god gives us to live
man gives us to die
god is love
hate comes from mans/womans free choice
you are right to focus on the blessings ,in this way tyou find all god gives all of us
you are allowed to question
in fact called on to question
but recall we are not called on to judge
god is that which makes sense
when things dont thats a clue somhow man has twisted things so they dont seem to make sense
again thats not from god
throw it away keep that which makes sense ,dont claim that from god that is clearly from men.

Realize that God CANNOT make non-sense, so He/She must be making sense and it is I who am making the nonsense out of sense.
It is we who put labels on things like "hurtful", because it is we who CHOOSE to feel hurt. We can just as easily CHOOSE not to be hurt. Know that what you or I see as "hurt" or a problem is actually a blessing God has given us in disguise. It makes us stronger, smarter, wiser.
