I wonder this all the time but I like to believe that once you die you are still here..well sorta. Our loved ones that pass are still around us everywhere. That's what I like to believe. Like your mom is now following you around watching everything you do. When you have a choice to make and you hear a little voice in your head tell you what to do..that's your mom or your grandma. They will be at every birthday party, every Christmas, everything even if you don't see them they are there. I also believe that little children see things we don't. Sometimes Emma will talk to someone like there is someone standing there when I can see there isn't. I like to think maybe she's talking to her great grandpas or someone else that is stopping by to talk to her. I'm not crazy it's just what I like to believe.

Hey.. I know this is hard on you. I believe we go to heaven. I don't know if its some great paradise, or what it will be. But in my heart I believe that after you die you go somewhere. Someone once told me that when you die, and get to heaven, you get the gift of infinite knowledge. You know everything that ever did happen and everything that ever will happen. So instantly you know that the ones you left behind will be okay, and how much they miss you, and are hurting, but you know they'll be better down the road too.
A few weeks ago I had a dream about my brother, and it was *SO* real I can't even explain how real it felt. He took me aside and said Shh, no one can see me but you. I want you to know its okay here, everything is great, and don't worry you won't ever forget me. Then he hugged me and waved and walked away. I woke up in tears, but I felt very happy. And it just confirmed all the more that he was someplace good and happy.
You're probably doing a lot of soul searching right now.. I totally understand that. It will get better Jen, I promise. Please let me know if you want to talk.

I know just what you're going through. My mother died about about 2 months ago and I'm still shaky.
I'm a Christian and so was my mother but I have Republican (which is really being Christian and loving your enemies - because I'm a Democrat) friends who claim to be Christian but do not practice what they preach, other Christians who are almost fanatic, but most of my friends are not judgmental or fanatic, and are practicing Christians. Some friends are not of the Christian religion, but all of these people loved my mother or are good friends of mine and each has their own opinion on the subject - one of Mom's caregivers was studying to become a Wiccan.
My own view, of course, is that you go to the grave and to a kind of "sleep" that you are aroused from at the time of the Rapture by the sound of a voice like a trumpet when the dead in Christ rise first and join Him in the clouds.

I am sorry that you just lost your mother. Being a christian..and I know there is more than one interpretation...I believe that when we die, we are asleep in the grave until Jesus returns. The bible then goes on to say that the dead in Christ shall rise first and go to meet Him in the air. Wow what an experience.
When we go to sleep at night it seems like a second..then we are awake..the same is with death. People can have died thousands of yesrs ago, yet to them it would be as if they had just gone to sleep..like a second.
I don't know if you are a christian or if your mother was. But either way I can only tell you what I believe with my whole heart.

The Bible says we just die we do not go to heaven or hell directly when we die - John 3:13 says No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came down from heaven-the son of man. and as far as Hell goes. Hell its miss translated from the greek word Hades meaning Grave.
Our inheritance is a new earth at the resurrection Revelation 21)when Christ comes and judges us the righteousness get a new heaven and the wicked get burnt up at that instant not for eternity(malachi 4)

Jesus Christ spoke about the condition of the dead. He did so with regard to Lazarus, a man whom he knew well and who had died. Jesus told his disciples: “Lazarus our friend has gone to rest.” The disciples thought that Jesus meant that Lazarus was resting in sleep, recovering from an illness. They were wrong. Jesus explained: “Lazarus has died.” (John 11:11-14) Notice that Jesus compared death to rest and sleep. Lazarus was neither in heaven nor in a burning hell. He was not meeting angels or ancestors. Lazarus was not being reborn as another human. He was at rest in death, as though in a deep sleep without dreams. Other scriptures also compare death to sleep. For example, when the disciple Stephen was stoned to death, the Bible says that he “fell asleep.” (Acts 7:60) Similarly, the apostle Paul wrote about some in his day who had “fallen asleep” in death.
The Bible teaches that the dead “are conscious of nothing at all.” They are not alive and have no conscious existence anywhere. The account of Lazarus confirms this. Upon returning to life, did Lazarus thrill people with descriptions of heaven? Or did he terrify them with horrible tales about a burning hell? No. The Bible contains no such words from Lazarus. During the four days that he was dead, he had been “conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Lazarus had simply been sleeping in death. John 11:11.
The account of Lazarus also teaches us that the resurrection is a reality, not a mere myth. Jesus raised Lazarus in front of a crowd of eyewitnesses. Even the religious leaders, who hated Jesus, did not deny this miracle.
Think about this too: If Lazarus had been in heaven for those four days, would he not have said something about it? And if he had been in heaven, would Jesus have made him come back to earth from that wonderful place? Of course not!
Yet, many people say that we have a soul, and they say that the soul lives on after the body dies. They say that Lazarus’ soul was alive somewhere. But the Bible does not say that. It says that God made the first man Adam “a living soul.” Gen. 2:7, Adam was a soul. The Bible also says that when Adam sinned, he died. He became a “dead soul,” and he returned to the dust from which he had been made. The Bible also says that all Adam’s offspring inherited sin and death too.
The Scriptural teaching of the resurrection, however, is not compatible with the doctrine of the immortality of the soul. If an immortal soul survived death, no one would need to be resurrected, or brought back to life. Indeed, Martha expressed no thought about an immortal soul that was living on elsewhere after death. She did not believe that Lazarus had already gone to some spirit realm to continue his existence. On the contrary, she showed her faith in God’s purpose to reverse the effects of death. She said: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:23, 24) Likewise, Lazarus himself related no experiences of some afterlife. There was nothing to report.
Clearly, according to the Bible, the soul dies and the remedy for death is the resurrection. You enjoy the best sleep ever, until Jesus resurrects you, sometime in the future.

There is either heaven or hell.
God has given us salvation through Jesus Christ in order to receive HIs kingdom which is heaven. Becuse we all fall short of His glory as Romans 3:23 says, and we have all sinned against Him. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) This is the second death which is hell. (See Revelation 20)
Without repentence and faith in Christ, you will not receive heaven but hell, for there is punishment for sin- because God is JUST and HOLY and RIGHTEOUS. He is a perfect God and cannot be in the presence of sin-
So he sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed His blood so that those who beleive in Him will have eternal life--John 5:24
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
Sins are only forgiven through the shedding of blood, and Jesus did this with his own blood, enough to cover a mulitude of sins...and He did this out of HIS grace- nothing you can do can get you to heaven, but simply by believing in the Lord Jesus and that He died and rose again on the 3rd day just as the scriptures say. Ephesians 2:8 says "It is by grace you have been saved, through FAITH, and it is NOT of yourselves but it is the GIFT of God"
-God is awesome! That He would make a way for us to be with Him after this life- and not only that but change our hearts while here on earth, to give us complete Joy in Him- no fear of death.
The whole meaning of life is Jesus Christ---there is nothing more important than your eternal salvation.
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.
The Right to Enter Paradise
Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

I believe death is the end and that is it. Even if that is so, why would life be pointless if that were the case? Life has as much value as one decides to put into it and I have decided that my life is not pointless - it does not have to have a 'heavenly aspiration' to be valuable.
