that I am the decendant of a monkey-gator and a fish-bird having sex with each other? Also, why do atheists always say that Christians pick and choose what things they claim are true in the bible, while atheists pick and choose what aspects of Darwinism they believe in. Nobody talks about Darwin's views that blacks were the missing link between Apes and the white man.

Everyone is God conscious, whether they admit to it or not.

"I am the decendant of a monkey-gator and a fish-bird having sex with each other"

Well, at least you have a sense of humor, which seems to be missing in many saved ones.

"why do atheists always say that Christians pick and choose "

Seriously, because they do.

As for the rest, I am satisfied evolution theory and natural selection are essentially correct. Darwin was a product of his time; christians like to bring this up but bucketsloads of people in his time were, by todays standards, racist bigots. That would include the vicar, the pope, etc. etc

Anyway, the theory of evolution does not stand or fall with Darwin's personal views. They stand on they own with massive supportive evidence. They do not state that black men are the missing links.

What are you talking about? No Atheist talks about a monkey-gator or a fish-bird. Thats you trolling.

And Christians DO pick and choose which parts of the bible to live by. You wear clothing of mixed fibers don't you? Eat shellfish? Yeah, I thought so. Ignoring a part of your bible because it suits you are you? Yeah, I thought so.

Atheists do NOT ignore or pick and choose which parts of Darwinism to believe in. The man was right. In pretty much every possible way.

As for that idiotic claim that he said that blacks were the missing link... what book and page number please. I've read his studies and I've never seen that anywhere. Except for Christian claims.

Besides, WE admit that people can be wrong. Its part of being a scientists and being human. No one is perfect. YOu Christians are the ones that refuse to admit when somethings wrong and claim "its taken out of context".

Darwin was wrong on some things. That is the truth. A lot of Scientists are wrong, and that comes out through careful testing. Evolution has been tested over and over for decades and is stronger now than ever. Darwin set the rock in motion, while later generations turned it into a gem of scientific fact.

Mainly because Darwin never said that (so stop lying - which is a sin in your religion - naughty naughty), and Darwin is not the sole source of information on the study of evolution.

Unlike you, THINKING people do not just point at a book and believe blindly. They test and seek - not the truth, but an explanation of events.

Because scientific theories are tested and constantly refined. So Darwin (who never said that, by the way) was wrong about some things, seeing as he had no way of knowing about genetics and DNA and other discoveries that have helped refine the theory of evolution. People who accept evolution don't do it because Darwin said so.

Mrs. Garrison was ignorant. It was all a joke that episode. (A laughable one though... I enjoyed it.)

Not all atheists believe in Evolution which is a shame. In any case, we didn't come from monkeys/apes. They and humans share a common ancestor that lived several million years ago.

I believe ALL of Darwinian Evolution. I don't cherry pick any of it. What an absurd thought. Why choose what to believe when it's all science?

Scientific theory always evolves. It is not supposed to be the inspired word of God. So we are free to pick and chose and refine. You however want to claim a book is 100% right and that leaves you stuck with it.

As to the first question, there is a mountain of evidence for evolution. Here is my list. There is more, I just tried to stick with the easy to understand ones.

* Fossils - the order can be determined by stratification alone (no radiological dating) it is unarguable and life started simple and got more complex. Here is a simple chart to show what I mean: http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/fossils/succession.html
* Anatomical similarities between species.
* Chemical similarities between species.
* Mitochondrial DNA regressive studies. - This comes only from your mother and the only changes to it are through mutations. These mutations occur at a known rate, and converge world wide 150,000 years ago give or take. If Eve (6000 years ago) was the only female, it would be almost identical world wide. It is not. The flood gives a second bottleneck that matches the facts even less well.
* Geographic distribution of related species. Meaning related species are usually near each other.
* Wisdom Teeth - there isn't room on your jaw for them anymore.
* Your little toe - totally useless. Nice intellegent design here.
* Your appendix - totally useless now but it does digest cellulose in other species.
* Your inner eyelids - They don't even work now, but they do for lots of other animals like house cats. Bet you didn't even know you had 'em.
* Vestigial DNA - meaning chromosomes that we have but don't use, but that used in other species. We have several that other primates use but are totally useless to us.
* The fact that we share so much DNA among species
* There are no wild cows. They evolved through artificial selection and are totally man made.
* Different breeds of dogs, cats, livestock.
* Viruses and bacteria evolve quickly and you can actually see it. This is why you need a new flu shot every year.
* Your tail bone. It is even not that uncommon to be born with a tail.
* Goosebumps - this would be useful if we had fur because it fluffs it and make more insulation. For us it is worthless.
* The hair standing up on your neck when you are frightened. Animals use this to make themselves look bigger. Doesn't work when you walk upright and don't have fur.
* The fact that humans have gotten measurably and heritablely taller since the 1600s
* The fact that humans jaw have gotten measurably and heritablely smaller since the 1600s
* The fact that humans little toes have gotten measurably and heritablely smaller since the 1600s
* Human lower back problems. Your back is intelligently designed to have support from your shoulders.
* Transitional fossils - here is a list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_transitional_fossils

Christians believe that God created life out of the "nothing"[not having a word for whatever you call what existed that contained no life] and atheists do not believe in the creator God and so it appears that they believe that all life just happened to emerge out of the "nothing". It is illogical and unscientific to believe that life just sprouted out of nothing. Science is about proving what can be and not starting with a premise of disproving. Thomas Edison did not set out to prove there could never be a lightbulb.

lol, "the decendant of a monkey-gator and a fish-bird having sex with each other" why do you think that atheist think such a thing? is that your pitifully unrealistic view of evolution?? go to school. at least learn something before you start spouting it as nonsense, then at least you won't come off as a COMPLETE moron.

Your question shows a lack of intelligence. I hope it is a joke.

Science allows us to question other people's scientific research. That is why journals are peer-reviewed. That means you submit your research, other scientists read it and point out missing or inconsistent data or problems. Then you go back, do more research or clarify your article.

Can you do that to the bible? Can you review it, point out the inconsistencies?

No, you can't. You can't hone the bible based on research. You can't add books when you find new ancient manuscripts.

I'd write more but its not worth it.
