Please elaborate on how we ignore reality. Jesus is a reality. His teachings and existence are historically based and a reality. So who is ignoring reality my friend... and yes, YOU should be very afraid of the afterlife.

try explaing a little more "Reality".
I don't think that they do ignore reality, I think they're just a little annoyed at the insults and turn-offs they get from unbelievers who make fun of their faith. Christians afraid of afterlife? Since the Christian belief is that people who believe in the Jesus as their personal saviour, and that He saved them and gave them a perfect eternal life, I highly doubt Christians are afraid of afterlife. If anything, it's the unbelievers who are afraid.

Meaning..........It depends on which afterlife the Christians believe in, since there are so many different beliefs. But in all truth and reality I think everyone has a fear of dying, not so much what will happen after wards, but the actual death itself. My belief is that when I die I will stay dead in the grave until Jesus comes back to resurrects everyone. Eccl.9:5
The people that believe that when they die, they will go to the fire pits of eternal suffering hell.....well I guess they would be double scared. I would hate to live in such fear of that.
No matter how much I love God, and I do, I fear dying and leaving my family. I know that when I die I won't go to heaven, because the bible does not say that. I will however be in hell (the grave)
