If you don't even believe in Jebus, then how can you go somewhere you don't believe in? Doesn't it seem like believing is like signing a contract that sets you up for either heaven or hell?

The more material things we have the more we want and the greedier we become . Why do people depend on material things for happiness ? We should be donating our money to charity or volunteering to serve other people instead of buying things we don't need ! Happiness does not lie in owning things . Material things aren't the most important things in life .

I've just read a question from a jewish person, asking why he cannot be friends with muslims. Lots of people responded, saying such things as 'who says you can't be friends with a muslim' etc. and 'wars are between governments not people'.

All that stuff is easy to say, but I think it's very glib to say things like this in response to his question. In reality, what do you think would happen to this jewish person if he walked along a busy street in Ramallah, or some other Palestinian area?

-Both kinds start with (usually absurd) notions.

Examples:

-The earth was created by an eternal, omnipresent, omnipotent being.
-Humans come from monkeys.

-Both start with a hypothesis and gain evidence to prove them

-Carbon dating, fossils, gene similarities, etc
-Scriptures

So...what's the difference?

Proof?

If so, what is your proof? Why do you believe that a book written by a scientist named Darwin is so much more likely to be true than a book written by about 70 authors and sharing the same theme?

Would you agree that what we believe is the result of starting with a guess and building off of it?

When I got saved, I started with a faithful belief that God was real, and he continued to reveal himself to me.

What do you think?

Hia, I'm not wanting to start an argument or attract the ignorant, but I'm failing to understand a topic about religious groups, in this case the catholic church being against gay couples adopting.

I just dont see what problem a gay couple adopting courses, and more importantly, just because some person / group of people believe one particular thing is wrong, why should that limit another persons rights when it comes to adopting children.

This may sound crazy, but likes for a moment imagine a religoun that believe it to be wholly wrong to construct, use and condone the user of bicycles of which I am a member... is it fair for me then to protest that you, someone who does not share my beliefs or religioun should be allowed to keep, ride or advocate the use of bicycles... ?

Some educating and non-ignorant feelings on this will be nice, please ?

Thanks.

Both the Theory of Evolution and the Big Bang theory of the origin of this universe bother Christians, and isn't that why they're always grouped together?

How does a quran follower, if that is an appropriate way of wording it (sorry not sure what terminology to use), use to know to predict the future of mankind ?

Some eastern religions, I guess do not even worry about it, but - live in the present moment.

What does it say in the quran about this ?

What do genuine muslims think and feel the future holds for mankind while we are on earth, and after this life on earth ?

Thank You for your sincere answers. I am learning. Have downloaded a quran off the internet and have begun reading it, but must admit I have some difficulty understanding it.
Maybe it is the translation that came off the internet, I am not sure. But it was free.
Someone told me once to buy a
Abdullah Yusuf Ali Translation of the Quran !!
which will make it a little easier for me to understand. Where is it sold in San Diego Cal USA?

Does God send to hell people who are of a different faith? For instance a Muslim who believes in Allah, even if this is the way he was raised and all that he knows. And if he has been exposed to Christianity in some form but chooses Islam because he is so deeply entrenched in that religion.

Some comments have stated that God will not send to Hell those who don't know, or don't know any better. I'm curious to understand what happens to others who have minimal contact with Christianity but believe in other Gods. What of them?

Collecting material things used to be very important to me . I'm beginning to believe that material things aren't the most important things in life . Now I'm beginning to realize the more we have of material things the more we want and the greedier we become . I don't want any part of that . I feel inspired to get rid of my belongings unless they REALLY serve a purpose ( kitchenware, clothes, etc . ) . How can I get over buying new belongings ? Do I make a rule that says "Don't buy any new material things ?" . Why do I want material things ? Am I lacking something spiritually within myself ? What am I lacking ? How can I find that something so I don't depend on material things for happiness ? What do I do with myself after I give up collecting material things ? How can I get ready to get rid of my belongings ?

If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes? Did they just miss the memo, or what? And if the universe was formed by all matter coming together and exploding out to form everything, where did the matter come from in the first place?
And yes... I am a Christian who believes in Creation, so please don't answer with accusations and changing the subject. just want to know if anyone can answer these two questions...INTELLIGENTLY!

Lets think about this. He is the son of God. And god sent him down here to die for our sins so that we can have eternal life....right?

why is that necessary if he is God and can do whatever he wants? I mean why couldnt the rules be the same? Have faith in me and you have eternal life??? Why be all dramatic about it?
