Because these people you mention are closed-mind and lack what we call "Faith".1 JOHN 2:18-19 : "Little children,it is the last time:and as ye have heard that Antichrist shall come, even now are there many Antichrists;whereby we know that it is the last time
They went out from us,but they were not of us;for if they had been of us,they would no doubt have continued with us:but they went out, that thy might be made manifest that they were not all of us"
I hope that answered your question.Do not let someones non-belief affect your faith, for you are God's child.
But what I find even more scarier than God's wrath or how messed up our screwed up world is, is to discover that there are so many non-believers out there.Could it be that these non-believers are so full of sin that they use their unfaithfulness as an excuse because they are terrified that when "The Judgment Day" finally does arrive, that they all shall be cast into the pit of Hell, where they truly do belong?Pretty damn scary.
Oh well.To each his own.The Day WILL come and I do know where I am going. And it isn't to Hell.God doesn't forget. But He DOES forgive. So many fools there are in this world.

Well, you're only partly right. Archeologists have found some actual places that have been mentioned in the bible, but that doesn't prove that the stories are real.

For example, in the Spider-Man comics, Spider-Man (Peter Parker) lives in New York City. Just because there is a real place called New York City, does that mean that Spider-Man is real also? No, it just shows that a lot of authors tend to use settings and events from the world around them, so that people can relate to what they're reading. The authors of the bible were no different. They used real places that they knew and used familliar imagery to make it more believable for the target audience.

No one has ever found any archeological or historical evidence of a global flood, of the exodus, or of any of other major biblical story. Sure, some of the settings used in the stories were real, and maybe even references to major events going on at the time, but the stories themselves have never been proven, and most of them fly in the face of any sort of logic, reason and even the physical laws of the universe.

I would be open to any and all scientific evidence that would prove the validity of god and/or the bible, but to this date, no one has produced any whatsoever.

Like any archeology finds...there is room for error. This has been proven over the years.

Also bear in mind that books can be based on truths true. So..maybe elements of the bible are true. However most people cant quite comprehend that a man did 'walk on water' and fed the 5,000 from stone and water (or whatever it was) and perform miracles. If you read a book like that today would you believe it to be true? No.

The archeology finds actually proves nothing. Otherwise there would be no debate at all. Much like there is no argument that dinosaurs existed. All the archeology proves is that there is evidence to suggest its possible. Where is the proof of the miracles etc..? Besides these particular archeologists are looking for evidence that fits the story, otherwise they would not know what to be looking for in the first place. And sometimes you find what you want to in life, not what is actually in front of you.

Your statement that its 'historically proven' is incorrect for these reasons. If this is actually true maybe when you provide feedback on your 'best chosen answer' you could post the links to this 'total historical truth' to make us non believers see the light.

We must all believe in what makes us tick. Thats sound advice.

Hope this provokes some thought

What parts have been proven correct? And you said pretty much anything has been found, well I know that archaelogists can't find a single shred of evidence that Jews roamed the desert for years on end after being liberated from slavery by the Egyptians (which also has not one shred of evidentiary support to back it up). So again, how is the Bible historically proven correct?

In addition, just because the writers of the Bible used stuff that they knew to be true and that can be shown to be true, does not mean that the entire story is true. Haven't you ever read a book that is a mixture of fiction and non-fiction? Proving to me, for instance, that the Red Sea is real, does not prove to me that Moses split it. When you can give me proof that he did this, then I'll believe your "story".

Scientists have proven that the seven plagues happened! Unfortunately for you they proved that it was most probably caused by a volcanic eruption and not God. They also reasoned that the reference to the Red Sea (which is nowhere near the route that Moses supposedly took) is most probably an area of "reed seas" which are quite shallow and prone to parting. These exist in the appropriate geographical location and I understand that the Hebrew words for red and reed are similar. If the bible is so accurate how come this error remained for so long.

The unfortunate belief that popular opinion and following make something true is utterly false. John Mormon said one day that God came to him in a dream and told him that large parts of the bible had become corrupted through time and gave him the correct version. Lots of people now follow this version of the bible which is quite different to yours - do you think they are all wrong too?

Bible is a great book, either you think it to be the word of God or a collection of stories. I have not met the people who think the Bible is a fake. They do, however, agree or disagree with the Bible.

You also need to remember that some gospels were not included in the Bible, because they said something the early church politicians did not like and it did not fit their interests to include those gospels in the Bible.

Depending on what you believe in, you might interpret the Bible one or another way. The same story or fact tells different people different things.

It has not been historically "proven." These archeological findings are not absolute. They are an interpretation. There had been many cases where a place or artifact that was first identified as biblical, was re-categorized as pertaining to another era and culture. There are similarities among cultures that can lead to the confusion and to some, these resemblances happened to be a great opportunity. Some people will simply not accept everything they are told as the truth.

Because most of the churches treat it like a story book. They teach and preach mythological stories, ike the Ark being a Boat rather than a box, or that the wisemen were invited by God to the birth of Christ, instead of a bunch of astrologers following a star that led them to an enemy of Christ, than arriving to find a boy in a home. Is it any wonder they are confused?

stories about 600 year old men, guys getting swallowed by whales or a big fish depending on the version, world wide floods and noahs ark. Plus all the contradictions in there (don't bebieve me read Deuteronomy 10:1-3 and Exodus 37:1, there are too many to list here)

Many reasons, but two I've noticed the most are: pride which prevents people from accepting change and correction as required from God, and Ignorancewhich fools many into believing God is a cruel taskmaster with control issues. So they avoid prayer and reading of the Bible. As a result, they are in the dark to who God really is and what he promises for Believers.
