Hia, I'm not wanting to start an argument or attract the ignorant, but I'm failing to understand a topic about religious groups, in this case the catholic church being against gay couples adopting.
I just dont see what problem a gay couple adopting courses, and more importantly, just because some person / group of people believe one particular thing is wrong, why should that limit another persons rights when it comes to adopting children.
This may sound crazy, but likes for a moment imagine a religoun that believe it to be wholly wrong to construct, use and condone the user of bicycles of which I am a member... is it fair for me then to protest that you, someone who does not share my beliefs or religioun should be allowed to keep, ride or advocate the use of bicycles... ?
Some educating and non-ignorant feelings on this will be nice, please ?
Thanks.

KEIKO- It is a n ethical dilemma! -I have been scrutinizing the catholic church almost my entire life ! I might be ignorant to look at a bigger picture but up close and personal the catholic church is nothing but a bunch of rules made up by a guy in a big hat with fur coats and gold chains that sits around a table with a bunch of other guys who almost look like him , making up this crap as it goes along! - plain and simple has nothing to offer in any department! The pope spoke candid about Muslims and got a lot of heat for it! what no one realizes is, and here is my next point......
they are sexist against women ,just like who?????, so, what makes you think they are going to treat anyone else' decent , especially homosexuals? - thanks God, adoption agencies today are against religious orientation or otherwise many children just would not have loving parents and a wonderful home to call their own! That would be child rearing the catholic way! leave them in orphanages they are better of there , then in a loving home!
Never mind that you would be willing to love and give your all to a child that was tossed by a stranger . I was taught by my family that Jesus is accepting of all people and had love for all people. so if Jesus can ,why not the catholic church? since Jesus is who I worship ,the catholic church has no bearing on my life or to tell anyone what to do , as they are beneath Jesus and should live according to his teachings- no?
homosexuality- ethically speaking - just isn't OK in any religion that would include the catholics!

I was having the exact same conversation with some friends over the weekend. I got the craziest responses from them. They claim that if a gay couple adopts a baby, then the baby will become gay because it is what he/she sees at home. Come one... gayness is not a choice, you're simply born that way, same way someone is born whit blue eyes and another person is born with green eyes. Besides, their family ain't his/her only reference about a family... they have friends and relatives with straight marriages. It's not like they're living in a bubble.
The rejection they'll get from society about being part of a gay family comes from that same bigoted society. If we started accepting the fact that people from the same sex can love each other and form families, there would be no rejection at all. We have to change as a society in order to stop the nonsense.
What is more important? Love or "normality"? I believe a gay couple can love a kid as anybody else. That's what should matter.

My feelings about this is simple...
It is a great work the Catholic church does in helping place children with families. Unfortunately, because of this law, which they are now bound to follow, they will either stop doing charitable work in this area or will be subject to legal action. Consequently, there are going to be more people who struggle with decisions about adoption and will have no one of their faith to turn to to assist. The reason why there's a problem is because they receive govt assistance, so I guess they could just do it on their own, but it's a shame that government actually stiffles charitable work and community assistance. Oh well.

Yeah they should mind their own damn business and let us gays live a decent life. And those Catholics shouldn't be telling ANYONE not to take care of children when their own priests do those terrible things to children.
I'm curious though, what religion doesn't condone bicycles? Just curious.

It makes no sense to deny gays the right to marry or adopt. To deny it just forces your dogma on others. I see no reason to not allow people who are financially stable and loving to adopt regardless of their sexual orientation. It just makes sense. But some people lack sense...and unfortunately, they're making the laws. Some day it will be common place for gays to marry and adopt. It's just a long road getting there.

since so many are against contraception and abortion ... there are many many children needing homes in this world
and i know Gay couples who are the most loving and compassionate people on earth
these children could do a lot worse than to have them as parents
