Lets think about this. He is the son of God. And god sent him down here to die for our sins so that we can have eternal life....right?

why is that necessary if he is God and can do whatever he wants? I mean why couldnt the rules be the same? Have faith in me and you have eternal life??? Why be all dramatic about it?

Theangel1-I have read the bible. prob more in depth than you. and find that it is pointless reading as books contradict themselves and there is stuff missing..

and please spare me the verse about how God said that the word of god can not be tampered with. for all i know that was something man decided to write in so idiots wouldnt question the church. another way to gain power. yay for jesus guys

free1indeed-that has absolutley no legitimate argument in it whatsoever. please think before you speak as most people will say they would die for two days just to get out of....anything they didnt want to do.

AND i think you guys are missing the point. he is god, he can do WHATEVER HE WANTS TO DO. therefore if he wants to let everyone into heaven he can. if he wants to change his mind at the "end of time" and tell everyone to "go to hell" he can..hes god..

I honestly think that you make a very good point here, and maybe because you posted something like this it will get more people thinking about how much of the bible is truth, and what isn't??

In one sense, God can not do anything He wants. He can't go against His nature, which is perfect and holy. To accept sinful Man, a perfect sacrifice must be made. This sacrifice was Jesus; it's as simple and complicated as that.

God's a big showoff. If he had just changed the rules without the big "sacrificing his only son" deal, nobody would have written a book about it. Besides, Jesus was only dead for what? Two days? That's hardly a sacrifice. Most people would agree to be dead for two days just to get out of working.

If you choose to worship an unrighteous God then it would be easy for an unrighteous God. It is after all the first lie of Satan in the garden..You shall not surely die. God Warned Adam the consequences of his disobedience before Adam ate of the tree of knowledge...Satan lied and said that Adam would not surely die...When man sinned he separated himself from a righteous God. God had a plan to reunite man to him but it did not include bridging the gap by becoming unrighteous with man. The wages of sin was death and even though Satan lied and said this was not true as one religion is teaching this same lie it is easy to see that Adam did die and death did enter the world as w all do still have to face death...God remains righteous and this separation was very real...God bridged this Gap by paying the penalty of death for us not by joining us in unrighteousness..Jesus was this bridge as one man Adam brought sin and death one man Christ brought salvation and eternal life to those who accept the atonement. If it is yur presumption that God is not righteous or that he would choose to join himself to us in our sin I would warn you this is not God you worship but the one who first taught this was Satan himself.

in the old testament, the jews offered animals for temporary forgiveness of sins, in the new testament, Jesus Christ came to be the perfect sinless sacrifice that would forgive sin for eternity for whoever believes in him. That is God's law, sacrifices are a part of it. Jesus came because he loves us and wants us to be with him for eternity.

If he didn't die for us, all of us would burn in hell. he loved us and wanted to save us by making himself the perfect sacrifice. Sure, he could have done it in an easier way, but he wanted to express his love to us.
If he didn't care about us, Why die for us?
Do you think God would create men just to see them burn in hell?

Because Love knows NO GREATER ACT than to lay down you rlife for a friend.

Jesus/God loves humanity so much that he would die for them.

Because God's commandments were never kept by men - and since the only condition to enter the presence of God is to be devoid of any sin.

Christ who is God has to come and die for us to cover the sins of believers (in Him) by his blood covering our past and future sins to present ourselves sinless to God.

I thinking he was just more bragging about the fact he could go through a life as a man and not sin. Like "Dang, was that so hard, now stop messing it up."
