Well some one today told me that it the possible reason why the Europeans conquered and killed off most of the Native Americans was because the Native Americans didn't have GOD on their side and the Europeans did! Do people know why it's so much religious conflict in the world because of this thinking! And they think Atheist are crazy!!!

I do hate it when religous people condemn those who believe in evolution. If you are looking for a naturalistic theory it is probably the best one out there. But couldn't an evolutionist have developed his scientific system of thought from his beliefs that everything is naturalistic. I think those who condemn creationists are just as scared as those who condemn evolutionists. Why shouldn't a religous person see the many holes in evolution and the many miracles that had to occur for the universe to be as complex as it is and decide they do not want their children growing up with the idea that science disproves the Bible. I believe Chrisitanity is a very eye opening religion and shouldn't be scared of knowlegde. I also beleive science has helped us understand a lot but it has its limits in what it can tell us. I havn't heard any good reason why creationism is wrong except that its from those crazy fundamentalists!!!

I've recently inherited a little money. Its between clown school and getting my degree in creation science. Clowns are scarey aren't they, so I figure get my diploma in creation science, and . . . well, I won't be in that white paint with a big red nose, but you get the idea don't you?

Do they believe that he has always existed or that he was created from nothingness? If so, then why can't the same theory apply to the universe and therefore entertain the idea that there is no God?
How can one say that God came from nothing/was always there and yet refuse to allow the same idea to be applied to the universe itself?

My partner has an aunty who converted to muslim a few years ago... she prays 5 times a day, on the floor... she has detached herself from the family... the family dont believe there is a God, they dont believe there isnt a God either... perfect prey for prechers i spose... anyway... the question im really asking is, why choose to pray 5 times a day, on the floor like some kind of slave to God, and not spend that time with the family where things really matter? Is it Gid's wish to have a family in a state on non-communication 5 times a day? Whats wrong with just the one prayer a day? Will God punish her if she misses a prayer? Will God punish her for spending more time with her family and less time on the floor? Any muslims, please feel free to educate me because i need to understand. I dont want to offend anyone and i apologise if i have. Thank you.

Typical Christian's fear based comments

1. "What if you're wrong? You're going to hell"

2. "If I believe and i'm wrong, I have nothing to lose but If I dont believe and I'm wrong, I'm screwed.

3. "on judgement day, you'll regret every word"

4. "How could you live thinking there's no after life? That's terrible"

Typical Christian's Ignorance based comments

1."Where did the first organism come from? Who started that?"

Note: Notice they violate their own argument by saying God didn't have to come from anywhere. That's a flat out contradiction

2. "My experiences are proof that God exist"

Note: Their experiences are simply things they didn't understand so they passed them off as miracles from god. That's ignorance

3. "If you believe, God will show himself"

Note: If you believe first, you become bias towards any other possibilities and you'll pass anything off as a message from God

According to history and the time that Jesus was alive, it was almost unheard of for Rabbi's to remain unmarried and celibate. Is it possible that Jesus did in fact get married?

So, this was my first girlfriend and it wasn't working out that well as it got into like the 6-month range, but I was determined to try and express feelings with each other and make it work I guess. Anyway, my gf had the gawl to block me from myspace and not even break up with me, even thought that's what she wanted and I didn't really want to break up, but she wasn't working at it, and so after about 2 weeks of all that, I broke up with her and I've had it. Everybody else likes me and she's the first person in my entire life that's insulted me and actually meant it. What should I do? I thought I was a nice, ethical, generous guy and I'm not trying to brag. Oh yeah, the thing that got to me was once I got to really start knowing her, there was a large difference in values and we started to disagree at that point.

I believe in God, and I believe in a creator. I am not saying I believe in some story about God creating things that came from a book. I want you to remove God from religion for a moment and evaluate that God. Tell me how we got here. Tell me how we are sitting on a ball in the middle of space orbiting an even bigger ball of fire. Some people say believing in God is ridiculous. These people say this while sitting on a planet that is floating in the middle of nothing and yet they fail to see the irony. Believing in God is ridiculous but the fact that we are standing on a spinning ball is not?

I'm a first time visitor and I was amazed how cruel some of the answers were from others to people who are trying to reach out for answers in a time of need: Ex. death, suicide, divorce, etc. Some of the answers that were listed were awful. This forum may be a last resort to some and we are telling them to jump off bridges, jump in front of cars, shoot their spouses, etc. How would you feel if you were in a similar situation and this was the answer you received. Some of the answers given here could send someone to their death. What an awful way to treat a brother or sister in Christ.

I lost my bid for a set on Chapter (the governing body of the church) this morning. Is it because I am too young? I'm 24, but, as I pointed out in my speech before the election, I am deeply involved in several ministries and I have already had a role in other governing committees at this parish. The person who got the position is middle-aged but very new to the parish, and i personally had never heard of her before.

Was this decision based on my youth? Was there something I could have said or done differently? I'm really upset by this.
