Malaria is a very successful protozoan parasite that has evolved excellent means of survival. Unfortunately it kills its hosts (one of the three million people it kills annually) before it moves on.
There is no god.

I believe he did, which seems strange. Why would God create a "bad bacteria" which kills millions every year? Malaria would be a harmless bacteria if it wasn't for the Mosquito. Most species of mosquito are harmless, it is only a few that are dangerous to mankind. They perform an important function in plant fertilization during the night.
To be fair to God, I believe a lot of those millions who die, do so in part because of political reasons, not because of the bacteria or mosquito. How often do you see an advert on TV telling people to empty out old pots of water? How often do you see a person put few drops of kerosene on an infested pond? Never! Why not? Because ... ???
Also, no, it isn't evolution. It might be a mutation, it might be "devolution", but it isn't evolution. Evolution requires an INCREASE in the genome, not a DECREASE.

This topic shows a flaw, if you will, in Intelligent Design. If God has a plan for us all and loves us all, why have people (including children) die a horrible death from Malaria?
Malaria is a result of Evolution and Natural Selection.

Malaria, and other illnesses came into the world because the world is under the effects of sin. In the future there will be no illnesses, diseases, infirmities, nor even death...
Isaiah 33:24: "And no resident will say: “I am sick.” The people that are dwelling in [the land] will be those pardoned for their error.'
Isaiah 25:8: "8Â He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. And the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for Jehovah himself has spoken [it]."
Isaiah 35: 5 & 6: "5Â At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened, and the very ears of the deaf ones will be unstopped. 6Â At that time the lame one will climb up just as a stag does, and the tongue of the speechless one will cry out in gladness. For in the wilderness waters will have burst out, and torrents in the desert plain."
Revelation 21: 3-4: "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4Â And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

From the Bibles perspective, when sin entered the world so did pain, suffering and disease. I believe that through God we can one day see a time when there will be no more suffering or disease or crying.
Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
John 3
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[b] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
I know that your question is about evolution. It is possible for viruses to evolve but this doesn't nessesarily mean that humans or any other species could evolve from one species to the next.

I am Christian, yet I do not deny evolution. I just do not see how it directly disproves that God exists. Even evolution theory makes some big jumps without significant proof. At any rate, God did not create us as perfect beings, he created us to become perfect beings which we cannot totally become during this life. His plan extends beyond this life which must come to an end at some point in order to pass to the next life. Suffering is a natural part of life which makes the good times better.

You need to ask the devil that one.. hahaha. why do people blame God for the devils workings? God did not design malaria, he gave man the intelligence to design the cure for it.

Surely, even a christian would have to accept that a malaria parasite has just as much right to exist as a human, wouldn't they?

Sin changes everything for the worse. Before it entered the world, there were no carnivores, no parasites, etc. When this world passes and all is made new, there will be no more disease and no more death. This is only for a time.
