Im agnostic and reject all religion. All of it.

There are so many things western people just dont understand about Islamic culture. Western people use their religious norms as a means of comparison, which is part of the problem.

For example, a core premise of Christianty is the idea that "man has free will" and the test for humanity is whether, given a choice, they will chose Christ.

Islam is totally different. There is no "choice" per se as with Christianty. Yes, you can "chose" to become a Muslim or you can simply "submitt" under duress, as some jews did at the Battle of Badr. Muhammad gave them a choice, beheading or Islam. Eight-hundfed jews were beheaded, but some jews chose Islam, which of course is not a choice.

Heres the kicker. You see, there is no choice. Allah has already establish his law on earth. The fact that you dont accept it simply means YOU are disobeying YOUR law from Allah. So, essentially Muslims are mere policemen trying get the rest of block in order

thank people for answering questions? I thank all the people who answered my questions. I do not have answers, but I did not expect them here, but it was interesting reading all of your stuff. I will not be converted to Jehovah's Witness, though.

I know this question has been asked before, but I went back and read the best answer but it didn't really answer the question. It told us all about the various angels, Michael and Gabriel and even Lucifer, who eventually decided to be Satan.

So who created Satan, or Lucifer? And, assuming it was God, did God know that Lucifer was going to decide to be Satan, that inequity was going to be found in him, or was this a complete and utter surprise to God? Where did the inequity that was found in Lucifer come from?

I mean blacks and whites, arabs and asians, all people dressed in nothing but a white sheet, equal as humans in Gods eye, none above the other, in awe and worship of God?

How much do you know about Islam?

how would that change your religious views today?

Lets say that mankind had united and found a way to satisfy all our needs, eliminated violence, prejudice, and all the other evils. People were free to pursue whatever made them happy with no fear or concern of hurting themselve or anyone else. Essentially civilization had become a utopia, and religion just fell by the wayside.

Would knowing this was our destiny make you any more, or less, religious today?

What about the opposite... what if we became a single united peaceful planet, but everyone was devoutly dedicated to one religion, and ALL people believed. What would you do?

Right. So there is this gigantic question hanging over everybody's heads-- does God exist? Let's not get into the politics of it, or the specificities of religion (creationism vs. evolution etc.), or all the supposed harm caused by religion, but let us just address the issue itself-- does God exist? I just have one point to make, one argument (for now), which I would like to see answered rationally by athiests (I have many athiest friends btw, so I'm not hating or anything). Can anything, in which one can see order and logic, come together without some sort of guidance? Example-- take a look at a wall. It's just a wall, a simple wall-- it does not move, speak, feel. It doesn't do anything. Yet walls, simple as they are, still have order and structure to them. They do not come together through sheer chance, or through random chaos-- they are forged, through the guidance of men, to be what they are.

You know Christians are in the minority, right? How can Jesus, with all of his power, allow 66% of the world to deny that he is the son of God? How can 66% of the world be 'wrong' and not know 'the truth'?

In today's modern world, homosexuality has been accepted by many. Many homosexuals argue that they are "born" with the inclination, and there is nothing that they can do to help it. They also argue that modern studies reveal that this is not, in any wise, a sickness, and that they cannot help it.
My question, though, is why this same logic or idea cannot be used for the justification of marriage between two grown members of the same family. For example, suppose a boy grew up loving (lusting after) his mother. His mother has never molested him or shown any hint of anything more than motherly love. Once he grows up, he voluntarily proposes to his mother, and they marry. What would be wrong with that in the eye of society, then? It was voluntary consent between two parties, and there is no evidence to suggest that the young boy was manipulated, and they've done it because they wanted to. Plus, the son was "born" with the inclination, and that inclination led him to like his mother.

From my observation, from everything I've been able to read and assimilate, the existence of God and especially the story of Jesus and the purpose for his crucifixation with salvation, has to do with SAVING MANKIND from hell, giving mankind a choice between heaven or hell.

It appears that mankind (humanity, MAN) is the centerpiece and focus and primal explanation for the existence of god to begin with. MAN's salvation. MANS redemption. MANS entrance into heaven. MANS eternal life. MAN MAN MAN MAN.

This runs contrary to, and contradcts EVERYTHING Christianity presents, as a story of the exaltation of God. God is not exalted: MAN IS EXALTED. The whole purpose of Christ's so-called bloody torture and killing, the whole purpose for his so-called "sacrifice" was so MAN WOULD NOT GO TO HELL. Thats it. Man is apparently the sole purpose for the existence of god himself.

My question then is this: IF IT WASNT FOR MANKIND'S EXISTENCE, WHAT PURPOSE WOULD THERE BE FOR GOD TO EXIST?

In Elementary school, we used to sing a song that basically said if you read your bible and pray every day, then you'll grow (in spirit). However, I am having difficulties finding the verse. Does anyone know where it is?
