how would that change your religious views today?

Lets say that mankind had united and found a way to satisfy all our needs, eliminated violence, prejudice, and all the other evils. People were free to pursue whatever made them happy with no fear or concern of hurting themselve or anyone else. Essentially civilization had become a utopia, and religion just fell by the wayside.

Would knowing this was our destiny make you any more, or less, religious today?

What about the opposite... what if we became a single united peaceful planet, but everyone was devoutly dedicated to one religion, and ALL people believed. What would you do?

i dont think i would change much although i would be interested in finding out why they abandoned religion. like if they found something out. it still wouldn't change what happened afterwards when you die, which is the only reason anyone beleives in any religion . they are scared not to.

comparing Paganism to Christianity is an unfair occasion, with the aid of fact that is purely a generalization of thousands of tribal religions that have been unique to a definite tribe. that's why the classic Greek, Roman and Egyptian religions died out quickly after those empire fell. Christianity, on the different hand, is unfolded in the time of many distinctive ethnic communities, and specific ones, like the Irish, evaluate Christianity a evaluate their id. as long as there are Irish people (Which there'll), Catholicism will stay to tell the story, as might the different Protestant and Orthodox faiths. So i might say that Christianity is right here to declare for the subsequent 4000 million years, or extra.

Good question.
I have learned and been assured by the Holy Books that all men have been created to carry out an ever-advancing civilization. And they cannot do this without the revelation of the One True God. So, I use all my time to learn and to practice the sacred verses revealed by the Messengers of God and strongly believe that more and more people will do the same, and perhaps I may see the united and peaceful planet in my lifetime.

Well, I already feel that religion is the root of all evil, so I guess my views wouldn't be changing much.

However, I know that the second scenario you mentioned will never, EVER happen. It's against human nature. If that were to happen, everyone would know the answer to the question, "Why can't we all just get along?"...when the answer is, we can't.

Well if the world was peaceful then religion is not needed. Religion is just a vehicle to reach spiritual happiness, it's what the masters that knew that happiness taught to guide us.

If everyone was peaceful and dedicated to one religion I'd be happy to see that and would want to be peaceful too.

wow

that's an amazing question.

for the first part i would be devastated. there may be peace and freedom, but because of what i believe, everyone would still have a void in their lives that they cant fill on their own.
it would make me more devoted to my faith to try to change the future, but we all know how it would turn out.

as for the second part, i believe that the world would finally be where it has belonged all along. and i would be very happy.

thank you for this question, its a real thought provoker!

A society without religion. Sort of like living in Seattle!

Cool. We won.

This is one possible future. The other one is that religious ignorance and violence destroys us. Right now I am thinking this latter scenario is more likely.
