thank people for answering questions? I thank all the people who answered my questions. I do not have answers, but I did not expect them here, but it was interesting reading all of your stuff. I will not be converted to Jehovah's Witness, though.

If one answer stands out above the others and you are really pleased with it, you should choose it as best and thank the person who shared his knowledge with you.

An expression of gratitude is always a nice gesture!

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would talk about their god and their faith even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Sure, I often send thank yous, and/or follow ups to people who answer my questions or who seem genuinely interested in the answers they get.

One problem I have noticed is some people decide to attack me if they do not like my decission. I had one guy IM me about some lie some "freind", who's name he did not know told him about my fellow Witnesses. Supposedly the freind broke in to our Brooklyn branch and stole some finance reports and found out that we were building some billion dollar item that.........

I banned him after he rudely refused to back up anything he said. Most do not act quite that um intense so I still do leave myself open to communiques.

I have been told, and am inclined to agree, that a lack of courtesy is one of the first signs of the breakdown of society. People stop being courteous because they really don't care about anyone but them self. I for one am glad to hear a thanks for a sincere response, but never expect it. Imagine how God feels? He has given men minds and hands and eyes and ears and blessed them with 10,000 benefits; and then they use those very blessings to curse Him, blaspheme Him and defy and deny Him. Sometimes I marvel that He restrains His judgment so long.
