My mother is trying to tell me that body piercing and tattoos is a sin, according to the bible. I asked a friend about this (a christian friend, very strong in his faith) and he told me that my mother was wrong, that what she was referring to was a bible verse taken out of context.

Are piercings and tattoos considered a sin? If so , what verse in the bible states this?

those items were worth a fortune. still are. people do not listen to poor people. but let some rich guy come into town and talk to people and they may just listen. some guy in rags wouldn't stand a chance.

As a boy he met d'Assisi who preached him but not convinced.
As a king he regained Jerusalem and had the Christians minced.
In Egypt he crushed King Loui(s) and had the problem fixed.
Will America give a city his name and have her issue mixed?

Note: San Francisco, CA is named after St. Francis d'Assisi, while St. Louis, MO is named after King Louis IX of France; later known as St. Louis.

If you say read the bible as an answer it shows you don't know the answer as well are you that hypocritical? It says god placed a mark on cain's forehead so that all who saw him would know what sin he had done. At t this point there is only two people who would see him, Adam and Eve his parents. I asked this at age nine and no one has come close to answering ym questions as to what the interperetations of the stories are.

Many people talk about going to a "better place" but in real terms what do you expect it to consist of. Will you eat, will you work, what exactly will you do.
Dont give me some airy fairy "it will be magical" or "only god knows", give me a day by day description of what you think you will do to occupy yourselves. will there be buildings, will there be picture theatres, what will there be there? If you are immortal you wont need to eat anymore, it would be wastful and even sinful to just eat for the pleasure of it and there wont be any animals or any plants.

I ask this while thinking of the major religions and the New Ager's. They seem to all believe this magical thing is going to happen and bring then to a higher state, which they have done nothing for or gained on their own merits but that like a zap of electricity their all going to be complete and like these highly spiritual beings. New Ager's have the Christ-Consciousness, Christians jesus-pagan, and etc etc.

Why do people always attempt to take shortcuts to human progress? Why do they want everything handed to them on a silver platter and self defeat themselves as if they can arise to the occasion and bring themselves to higher nature of being and intellect? Why evade what matters the most, your own self? I mean really though if most of what constitutes you as an individual is temporal, and you have not obtained a higher ideal of being, what makes you think that you can generally become anything of value? What is it that invokes others to seek shortcuts when there are none?
