Many people talk about going to a "better place" but in real terms what do you expect it to consist of. Will you eat, will you work, what exactly will you do.
Dont give me some airy fairy "it will be magical" or "only god knows", give me a day by day description of what you think you will do to occupy yourselves. will there be buildings, will there be picture theatres, what will there be there? If you are immortal you wont need to eat anymore, it would be wastful and even sinful to just eat for the pleasure of it and there wont be any animals or any plants.

Here on earth, all we can do is use our imagination, so don't ask for such a clear explanation of what we will be doing. I suspect you are fishing to bolster your own inadequacy, through provocation, and irritating manner. Some may be right about harps & wings, but I like to believe we will populate the universe, and will be spending a lot of eternity with some fairy's neglected 72 virgins, maybe even yours too. Now go back and do your homework!!

After reading 'Destiny of Souls' by Michael Newton - life in heaven or the afterlife sounds pretty good! He put hundreds of people into a deep trance to explore past lives and the after life.
According to most of them, souls spend their time learning, having fun, travelling around the universe and generally recharging the batteries between lives. There are buildings, theatres, food - basically whatever *you* want to have there.

Most people that insist they are going to heaven have no clue what they will be doing. The Bible, at Rev. 5:10, says that those wh are in heaven will rule with Jesus as kings over the earth. If all good people go to heaven, who will there be to rule over?

"A better place" that most of us are looking forward to is eternal life on a paradise earth, not life in heaven. Ps. 37:11 says "the meek shall inherit the earth. And they ill indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." Verse 29 says: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."

Even though the Bible gives no clear description of Heaven,it does say what John witnessed.Yes, there will be plants, water, animals, and buildings."Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life,as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of GOD and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding it's fruit every month"...You won't be immortal because you already died.I know that your works on earth won't get you into Heaven, but I think they may depend on what you will be doing there.

Heaven for the Christian will be a place of glorious life that will never end. Joy inexpressible, limitless peace, pure love, beauty beyond description—that's what heaven is. Greatest of all will be the presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, with whom we will enjoy fellowship forever. Loved ones who have known and loved the Lord will be there. Revelation 21:2 says, "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."
Heaven will be a place in which its inhabitants will be freed from the fears and insecurities that plague and haunt us in the present life. No energy crisis there ... Free from the economic and financial pressures that burden us down here. Free from the fear of personal and physical harm ... No fear of personal failure ... Our relationship with Him will be intimate and direct. I'm looking forward to that glorious day of going to heaven.

"Heaven will be what we have always longed for. It will be the new social order that men dream of. All the things that have made earth unlovely and tragic will be absent in heaven. There will be no night, no death, no disease, no sorrow, no tears, no ignorance, no disappointment, no war. It will be filled with happiness, worship, love, perfection and other good qualities. Heaven will be a place to challenge the creative genius of the unfettered mind of redeemed man." Revelation 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

However, the Bible makes clear that there is only one way to heaven, and that is through repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ who said, "I am the way ..." (John 14:6). Jesus paid for our sins through His death on the cross. God offers us the free gift of friendship with Him in this life and eternal life in heaven when we die if we will but turn from sin and trust in Jesus as our Savior and Lord. "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved ..." (Acts 16:31).

I believe there will buildings, because in the Bible it says, "In my Father's house are many mansions, in my Father's house are many rooms, I go to prepare a place for you."
I believe that in heaven we will not have to work for a living. (or in other words, "till the earth", as this was a curse on mankind for sin). However, I do believe we will be able to do work which brings us pleasure. For example, I enjoy baking & sewing. I believe we will retain many of our hobbies and skills.
Someone who loves to cook might be involved in preparing heavenly feasts for people. When I think of heaven, I have an image in my mind of my late grandmother sewing curtains for my home, making a fuss that they are "just right" for me.
So at any rate, I do believe we will eat in heaven, not because of hunger, but for pleasure.
As far as activities, I believe there will be alot to see in heaven, and alot, ALOT of people to meet. I picture beautiful gardens, lakes, etc. I imagine myself having people come to my home to visit. I do believe there will be much opportunity for time spent worshipping God, talking to God, etc. But I do not think it will be an eternity of robotically bowing down to God. I believe there will be animals in heaven, but we will not eat them. I don't think they will be the same animals we knew on earth as our pets, but they will be heavenly creatures.
