By the time Cain had done this evil deed Adam and Eve had had many more children. Compare Genesis 5:4, how else would Cain have gotten a wife and gone with her to the land of Nod, she was one of his sisters.
I'd be more than happy to help you resolve any other questions you have.........

Cain had killed his brother, and as a result, God had banished him from his land, and Cain was afraid of being killed.
The mark of Cain was not, as some have taught, a badge of guilt, but a sign that God gave him for protection (Genesis 4:15). We do not know for sure whether this was an actual physical mark, or a pledge from God that he wouldn't be harmed. Even after Cain's great failure, God protected him so he would not be destroyed.
Read Genesis 4:13-22. It tells of the mark, and of Cain leaving the land of his birth and relocating to Nod. It also tells of his marriages and lists some of his kids. Because we know Cain married, it can be assumed that Adam and Eve had other
children who in themselves may have had other children. In early times marriage was between relatives because the gene pool was so small.
What has helped me in understanding the scriptures is having several good study bibles, so that I can not only read the scriptures for myself, but also see how different bible scholars interpret them.

Well, Adam and Eve had other children, most likely to be girls. Why? Because during that time the one that was listed in the family line (like the descendant list in Genesis 5) was the male, not the female. This was probably due to the fact that a child is named after the father, not the mother. So there were other children of Adam and Eve other than Cain and Abel.

You must question the Bible. To know something and believe in it you must study it. Part of really studying something is questioning it.
As to the query about Cain. The Bible does not say that Only Adam and Eve were around at that time. We know, from studying and asking such questions, that they had Many children.

You should ask all the challenging questions you want, but you should ask them in the right place. If you have a genuine interest in the Bible, try asking someone whose vocation is the study of the Bible, not Yahoo Answers. Before you ask questions, though, take the time to think about what you read because most of the time some thought will resolve the question.

A Fundamentalist would answer your question this way.........someone who takes the Bible literally, no matter what it says. This is accepting on blind faith.
Find yourself a minister who can help you with it. Or, even better, a professor of the Bible. If you go to a minister, do make sure he is not a Fundamentalist. I always found an Episcopal priest or a Presbyterian minister are good at answering questions.

You should read a comentary on Genesis, that may help. I'm afraid I can't answer your question about the mark either, but it may have been a spiritual mark, not a physical mark.
I'm not so sure if the population of the world was just two. I get the impression that it was a few more than this when Able was killed. After all they seem to be grown up, so they may have had wives and children.

Oh, and the Bible doesn't say God created Adam and Eve and that's all. It just says he created them first. Also they must have had children in the garden of Eden because God mentions how childbirth will hurt from then on. Ummm... and there had to be a whole lot of people in the world because Cain wouldn't have needed a mark otherwise.

Welcome to religion. Do some research, you will be amazed at what you find. The books of the bible were selected from many , many possible books two thousand years ago. They were combined to form the holy bible. Men decided on whitch books were to be added.
Heres my favorite question. If heaven is so great, how did satan get a third of the angels to back him in a coup? Satan is cast from heaven, then shows up there to turn god against job? Talks god into torturing his most loyal servant to prove satan, a traitor, wrong?
Theres something wrong with the whole deal. How can people not have asked these questions in two thousand years? If you do ask. you are a blasphemer. I believe in a god, of some form. And i believe he`s pissed about how men handled the bible.

God created other people besides Adam and Eve, they were the first to be created. God created people all over the world, that is why we have so many different races.
