Religion & Spirituality - 27 January 2007

Where I live there is a population of no religious people! They all live south of where I live, and can't contact them. Is anyone Christian out there? If so do you have the same problem? any scriptures? that will help me through this fleshly world?

I'll go first. I like Christianity because it gives an alternative to drugs and alcohol for troubled kids, teaches morals, can scare people into doing the right thing and has communities set up that donate to poorer countries.

Isn't that a bit hypocritical? They reject (some even try to outlaw) studies in science, yet use the same benefit of science to live their highly upside-down life.

the only thing is that i was not a very good team player as catholic, last time to church was years ago. And forgotten almost all the prayers. and jesus and god are no way in hell are going to let me into heaven, due to stacks of sins.

The Christians bravely struggle to keep their heads above logic and reason but, in this age of information and anonymous opinion, the level is quickly rising. How long before they succumb and are forced to admit that there is no truth to their religion that they practice it just to make them feel good?

Just like the Big Bang theory, many people think that either evolution will disprove Christianity or God will prevail and evolutionists will go to hell. However, it is my understanding that the book of Genesis (the part of creation) is a poem that is filled with symbols and has no correct interpretation to date. How can you say Evolution disproves or goes against Christianity just because the bible says we were made from clay? Isn't it just a poem?
