Everyone has a spiritual connection to god. We just need to be concious of it. Religion is a system to use your spiritual energies in a limited fashion. You will never reach your full potential in your spirituality through religion.
Pray, worship, fasting, meditation and a proper diet are stepping stones into developing or strengthening your spiritual nature

Oscar Wilde once said that "religion is the common substitute for belief". Sadly, I think he may have had a point. I don't mean to say that religion is BS. I only mean to imply (and I think Mr. Wilde was eluding to the fact) that sometimes beliefs get lost in the ceremony of religion. Spirituality should fill the vessel of religion, but unfortunately, some people are carrying around empty vessels, some people have no vessle and spritualy slips through their fingers, still others walk around empty handed. Spiritualiy and religion is not the same. A person needs both.

Praise be unto Yahoo, from whom all blessings flow.
What? Oh....yes, spirituality is rather vague, whereas religion is demagoguery, and often quite precise and outrageous. Also don't forget folklore and that sort of thing, as in "What is folklore?"
