Also, why did he need 6 days, why not 5, or 9?

Why couldn't he just blink it into existence...oh wait, that's the big bang....and you guys say that is impossible, so god obviously couldn't do that either.

God could have obviously created everything in an instant and made all of us perfect and without free will would have done everything the way we were designed to do it...Now I'm not one to speak of God in ways that are not written but how satisfying would it be to have little robots worshiping you? The reason as I see it is in the seven days as there are the literal seven days of creation and the one day is as a thousand years idea in which creation is not finished and entering God's rest is entering his kingdom as a perfected being. The 7th day is God's Sabbath and is his Kingdom and is a covenant with man to his salvation. God sustains sinful Man and perfects him through the atonement and those who accept this atonement by faith have entered in to his Sabbath.

God caused the "big bang" and to answer your question...God needed the rest, creating the universe is hard work! did you know that if any of the stars, planets or the suns were off more than half a millimeter the entire universe would be off kilter. for example...Jupiter is in just the right spot to protect Earth from being hit so much by asteroids, and meteors...is that not fascinating?

Resting on the 7th day was not necessary for God of course. However it was to show us that we must rest one day a week from our toll, to worship God together- He could have blinked it into existence- however that would still make Him the creator wouldn't it?

God was showing us that He wants us to work 6 days, and on the seventh rest. He spoke everything into existence. He is not a genie. God is allowing us to see how life should go.

He didnt have to rest. He rested as a model for us. You Know, those type A's that work 24/7 then die at 46 of a heart attack, they could have used a rest

Because God saw in the future the menkinds works for the material things, and makes a law to rest on the 7th day- to have time to think about our soul and say thanks to God. On ...jnsr.be .......is about the 8th day when Jesus Christ will come back on earth in Glory. Be the will of God .

God said on the seventh day we rest. He did not do it for Him, he set that aside for us , in-considerate humans. You are to rest on the seventh day and the seventh day could be Sunday. God does more that you know or care to accept. Believe in the Lord, Jesus Christ and thou shalt be SAVED !!!

The Bible says God rested; it doesn't say He HAD to rest.
