Macro-Evolution is a myth.
Social evolution is an excuse for bad behavior.
In his translation of the Bible, Noah Webster said:
"in the laps of two or three centuries changes have taken place, which, in particular passages, impair the beauty, in others, obscure the sense of the original languages. Some words ahve fallen into disuse; and the signification of others, in current popular use, is not the same now as it was when they were introduced into the version ... Whenever words are understood in a sense different from that of the original languages, they do not present the reader the Word of God. ... A version of the scriptures for popular use should consist of words expressing the sense which is most common in popular usag, so that the First Ideas suggested to the reader should be the true meaning of such words acording to the oiginal languages. ... That many words in the present version fail to do this, is certain. My principal aim is to remedy this evil."
In 1828 Noah Webster found over 150 words or phrases that no longer coveyed the accurate sense of the orignial languages.
In the almost 200 years since then, how many more have fallen into disuse, or the meanings have changed?
I welcome accurate, newer, versions.
Personally, I like the NASB and the ESV.

In a way, the different versions of the Bible were written to appeal to different races, or different groups. Such as the Jews and the Romans. The Bibles were books written to save the oral tradition of story telling when the Jews thought they were going to be the victims of genocide. Story's change after being told time and again. That's why some stuff is believable, while some is not. It's a story book. Read the Annotated version with the Apocrypha and you'll see three different endings to the ressurection.

did you know that the Bible was originally written in the Hebrew Aramaic and Greek languages? DO you read those languages? So we should be grateful that the Bible has been translated into English. Genesis the first book of the Bible was completed in 1513 B.C.E Did you know that after Genesis was written Some 2900 years passed before the complete Bible was translated into English? And over 200 more years elapsed before translation of the king James Version was completed (1611 C.E) Since the 17th century English has undergone many changes. We have seen that in our own lifetime haven't we? So we should appreciate modern translations that carefully express the same original truths in the language that we speak today.

Of course... just look at how back in the day incest was excepted by society and the bible, now it is not... etc etc. As the morality, laws, customs etc of society have changed so has the bible in order to better reflect the conceptions of modern society. Anyone who says the bible hasnt changed as society changed is full of it because with a little study you can see how everything changes over time... even the bible.

Read the Bible from beginning to end, and you will see the evolution of God. That is more fascinating than versions.

No, the new versions say the same thing as the old ones, just in a different language, or a different level of the same language.

a publisher has to change a certain percent of the words in order to get a copyright. The different versions are all about money.

Yeah. I asked a question a few days ago about why Christians don't believe in evolution when their beliefs are always adapting and evolving to assimilate new things science throws at them. Remember the good ol' days when they used to say dinosaur bones were planted by Satan? Ahhh, memories.

No, its like the limbo bar, how low can you go? Everyone who really cares should learn Latin, and the only real BIBLE should be in that language. That would take care of those who want to change the wording to fit their situation better. On second thought, yeah, your right.

They are just different interpretations of readings in the Bible by various spiritualists, philosophers and theorists.
