Please note, I am an atheist, and a Libertarian. I have no personal interest in the abortion issue because I don't have and don't want kids.

Yet, I still find this quite a paradox of logic.

Why would pro-choice people say life doesn't begin at conception and thus abortion is not murder, but then also say the random killing of a pregnant woman and her fetus (Scott Peterson for example) is TWO murders and clamor for the murderer being charged with TWO crimes?

This seems like talking out of both sides of your mouth, regardless of the lack of biological logic. So which way is it?

What's it to you? perhaps they just like the way it looks or it was a gift from a beloved family member or friend. Their not making you wear it. is it because it makes you feel guilty for looking at their cleavege?

That's what I learned in the Bible: Genesis 38:8-10

"Then Judah said to Onan, “Go in to your brother’s wife, and perform your duty as a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother.” Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so when he went in to his brother’s wife, he wasted his seed on the ground in order not to give offspring to his brother. But what he did was displeasing in the sight of the LORD; so He took his life also."

There is one pastor in Wisconsin USA that still marries people without a state licence because he believes it's Gods choice and not the state. The marriage is recorded in the family Bible and is legal and binding.I was curious to know if there are any compassionate pastors like him in Canada.

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

If Jesus never said these words, then how did Jesus say you could go to Heaven?

christian, jew, muslim, pagan, agnostic, all of you?

I realise being human doesn't come with a manual. And the universe can seem like a cold and pointless place. And that this whole life thing can be hard to explain and even do, especially when you've got a bit of a brain and you think about these things.

But don't you think that saying 'god X did it' and following whatever arbitrary rules he/she/it/they/whoever thought of it set is a bit of a cop-out? I mean, once you accept any god the endpoint for any important question will be 'he/she/it/they did it'. It's easy, but it also seems limited.

After reading a question posted by an individual about us wearing crosses; my question is this:

What does wearing the empty cross vs the cross with Christ on it mean to you?

Maybe if those that don't understand the wearing of the cross to us.. they will see why we wear them, when we wear them.

its incomprehensible to me because the cross was the Roman equivalent to our electric chair. it was a means of execution. It was that cursed thing upon which the lord of glory was executed by the hands of wicked man why would you want to be associated with something like that?

I'm not looking for any kind of relationship. Actually,...I'm looking for a good church around the Savannah area. Anything farther than Savannah,...like into West Tenn. is headed in the wrong direction. Savannah / Middle Tenn. area is what I'm shooting for. Preferrably an Assembly of God, Church of God, Full Gospel, Pentecostal, Non - Denominational,....along that line. My only real concern is that it be a good place to worship. Thanks.

I think the problem with society today is that life is too easy. Food and housing are too easy to obtain. Many of us work in an office shuffling paper and are living our lives watching the clock. If we were living 200 years ago, would life be so focused on survival that many of the problems we experience today be overlooked? Is most of what we consider disturbing or depressing just a frame of mind?

He will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. Psalm 72:12

I think this is why the psalmist prays for a leader who will deliver the needy and have pity on the weak, rescuing them from oppression and violence.

Praying for leaders who will rule with compassion toward the weak pleases God, because through compassionate leaders God's activity on earth becomes appearent.

As the psalmist say, " God alone does marvelous deeds"

Do you think God seeks leaders who show compassion for the week?

Wikipedia says: "As Muhammad is viewed by Muslims as a role model, his treatment of women and others is of special importance. Muhammad's treatment of women is viewed as surprisingly progressive for the time period in which he lived. Indeed, the Quran is credited with advancing women's rights in a way that was revolutionary for the seventh century world of Muhammad. A number of Muhammad's contemporaries were "shocked by the way he allowed his wives to stand up to him and answer him back. Muhammad regularly helped with household chores... Historians generally agree that Islamic social reforms in areas such as social security, family structure, and the rights of women improved on what was present in existing Arab society."

BTW, many sources say that Aisha was 12-19 when married, NOT 9. Some sources say she was betrothed at 9 but married at 15. Other sources say she married at 20. So NO, Muhammad was NOT a paedophile. And yes, the Qur'an is peaceful, please don't quote out of context.
