In Elementary school, we used to sing a song that basically said if you read your bible and pray every day, then you'll grow (in spirit). However, I am having difficulties finding the verse. Does anyone know where it is?

I know there is no verse with those actual words. I was just trying to find a specific verse (if there is one) that refers to this.

Yes I know that no where in the Bible does it use the word Bible. Please, I do not need a lesson on being a Christian or about the Bible. I have gone to a Christian school for over 6 years. I am just trying to find verses that refer to this song.

I know I am sounding very rude. And I am trying not to be. I am merely putting more infomation to be more specific on my search.
I know the motions to the song. I know the entire song too. So you need not post it.

I don't think there's a verse that quite corresponds to that; however I Peter 2:2, in the KJV reads " As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"

There is no verse that says that precisely. It just goes to show that not everything about our Christian faith is given to us out of the Bible. Good example is give to us by others and the method of interpretation of the scriptures is passed on in our Churches and ecclesial communities. Just like one can't find a verse that says "Sola Scrittura" or "Sola Fide" but these interpretations of the faith were handed down in the communities of the Reformation. So, don't worry about finding that verse. It's good advice no matter what.
P.S. Sorry about the lesson. I have met some Christians who won't accept anything unless the can find the chapter and verse to prve it comes from the Bible.

There are not any verses that suggest that in those words, as the bible as a whole is a compendium of many,66, smaller books. There is an often repeated principle throughout that does direct the reader to get to know the word of God beyond a casual acquaintance. The little song you sang was basically a nutshell generalization about reading the word of God.

Sorry friend, it's not in the Bible, but the principle is a good one anyway. The second verse says, "Neglect your Bible, forget to pray and you'll shrink, shrink, shrink." This song has motions to go along with it. On the first verse the kids stretch taller on the words, grow, grow, grow, and they squat lower and lower when they sing shrink, shrink, shrink. Very cute, lotsa fun.

My daughter sings that song in her Christian pre-school! You'll grow, grow, grow, or shrink, shrink, shrink. There are body motions, too. However, that is not in the Bible, because when each of the various books of the Bible were written, the books were not compiled in the format we now have. They were all separate and the word "Bible" wasn't in existance.

there is not an exact verse...
and it is not a formula there are more things important like approaching the word in faith
bu speaking of formulat Peter said "long for the pure milk of the word"
the implication is babies need milk and drink milk and grow when fed

And they continued reading aloud from the book, from the law from the true God, it being expounded and there being a putting of meaning into it; and they continued giving understanding in the reading.
Nehemiah 8:8
A principle we do well to follow everyday.

I think this is what you wanted:
2 Timothy 3
16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
