I have several old bibles that i need to dispose of. They are falling apart and I can not use them any more. Also I need to know what to look for when I get my new one. Thank you

It may feel a little awkward to do so, but Bibles are not considered to be blessed items and therefore may be disposed of in the manner you choose.

Just the other day I was looking for a new Bible in the bookstore. I was going to use it to make an altered book - a Book of Shadows. It would have been the ultimate spiritual statement for me (a Wiccan). But the pages they use in Bibles are far too thin.
Anyway, look for someone who likes to do altered books and art. I know they'd be happy to use it.

U should never throw a bible away take it 2 your nearest church, the world never has one 2 minee, what`s old news 2 u is good news 2 a person that`s just been born again. but GOD FIRST.

I would give them to your church. I lost count of all the Bibles I
pulled out of the garbage. I would tape them up as best as I could
then give them to any one who needed one.

they may be worth something - to somebody, so give them to a second hand book store. As for the new book, get the origin of species, by Charles Darwin.

I collect Bibles. You can donate them, or you can have them re-bound, or you can throw them away.
As for your new Bible, it depends on your denominational preferences. Every denomination has a list of preferences.

Give them to the Gideons. And instead of buying a new one, buy an encyclopedia instead. Learn some useful information

Try using the pages to either smoke some weed or as toilet paper.
